Yeah, the doberman doggies like to cause lockups. You can use a debug command to instakill them all to prevent it: Open up the debug console (` is usually the key for it) and type killall TNMDoberman Then press esc to close the debug console. After using legend, press ` (or whatever your open console/debug window key is, if that's not it), and then press esc as normal to close the debug window. The only problem is if you use the legend cheat, it freezes the debug menu thingy, so you've gotta save, exit the game, and then come back in for it to work (and get that box out of your FOV). The blowgun and crossbow become even more useful on the spacestation, too. Another useful thing Beeblequix does is tell you the direction to the exit after you get the firestaff and return to the lava jumping platforms, so you potentially spend less time jumping in the wrong direction.

On the failure to pick up bug, one instance is in ABI: There's a dead guard which always drops a medkit when you 'use' his corpse and says you have too many to take it, regardless of how many you have. If I remember right, he's near the disassembled robots, but I'm not certain.
