Re: Patch 1.0.2

No. I've looked for it and still couldn't find any sign of him. I've read the mission script so I think I'm looking in the right area. Thanks but 1.0.3 is about to come out and I've not really been much help to you. Speaking of 1.0.3, I'm disappointed at the lack of fist related fixes in the propose...

Re: Shifter + TNM: Status

That's it. In both the infra-red and the X-ray spectrum. Gunther is too easy to lose by simply running away and coming back. I hoped that if he could always see you outside then he might be able to catch up with you if you mess around too much. Maybe it's my code, maybe he just disappears or maybe p...

Re: Patch 1.0.2

But with the way I carried out the tests I ran, there should have been nothing carried over to store in that variable. Should? Why are you sure? I started Deus Ex, then started a game and had no credits earned, discovered by means of voodoo. There was no PM. I loaded a save from near the end of a p...

Re: Slicer glitch - WorldCorp basement

I've been adding code to log all the reasons why the AI turns hostile on you. I'm trying to mod it so that it behaves more fairly and rationally. But on day 1 you can also get weird activity from the firewalls. For example I have had a firewall turn hostile on me for seeing an unconscious firewall (...

Re: Slicer glitch - WorldCorp basement

Good to hear. Now we've only got to worry about the original Deus Ex code. So what you're saying is the AI thinks about setting the alarm (making it hostile?), notices no alarm present to press, but remains hostile as a result? And your solution would be an addition that prevents the AI from thinkin...

Re: Slicer glitch - WorldCorp basement

But in the Corporate Sector, there is no alarm button anywhere to press, so it cannot be bound to specifically that. It can. Searching for an alarm button happens later. Code can be misleading but in the end it rarely lies. There might be another way for it to happen in the corporate sector. A civi...

Re: Slicer glitch - WorldCorp basement

You know that his glitch affects more than just Slicer? It's one of several ways Treskton can get blamed for things he didn't do. I'd suggest letting Treskton's enemies blame him for everything as I'm sure he has the reputation, but making sure his friends give him the benefit of the doubt. That's a...

Re: Slicer glitch - WorldCorp basement

This is TNM's fault! Yes, it appears to be the MIB and not the alarm that makes Slicer hostile. Setting off the alarms via the cameras outside his cell wasn't enough to cause him to go hostile. Anyway, I got annoyed with Deus Ex's strange AI routines have been trying to debug them. But the culprit i...

Re: Shifter + TNM: Status

Lollerskates can be turned off. While this does make them much more useful, it also take the fun out of them. My personal preference not to be able to turn them off and get a few more from random inventory. Also added a new feature that is WAY convenient: pressing fire when you don't have anything i...

Re: Shifter + TNM: Status

Sounds like good news. Some problems with TNM+shifter I've seen: Electrostatic discharge has the effect of combat strength because TNM seems to have copy and pasted a large amount od Deus Ex weapon code. Only it's a somewhat overpowered combat strength because the levels are different. Crystal Melk ...

Re: Hacking TNM?

Thanks for the offer. I now effectively have all the source for 1.02. I don't need to use another gig of bandwidth to download them so you needn't go to the trouble of uploading them for my sake. Would I be right in thinking that the code changes between 1.02, what you all are working with now and 1...

Re: Hacking TNM?

I'm stupid. When faced with code like: #exec mesh IMPORT MESH=TNMRifle ANIVFILE=MODELS\HCustomSniperRifle3_a.3d DATAFILE=MODELS\CustomSniperRifle3_d.3d X=0 Y=0 Z=0 UNMIRROR=1 #exec mesh ORIGIN MESH=TNMRifle X=5632 ... I thought that the origin was wrong. I was fooled by the way that fist were out of...

Re: Hacking TNM?

Of course, the package doesn't know this post-import, it just has "the mesh", so exporting it will export it 'as it appears in game'. Does it? Ucc goes to the trouble of replicating the import script and storing it with the mesh. Does "the mesh" include things like textures? If so, why are they sto...

Hacking TNM?

I really don't know which of the 3 forums to post this. So, as with any game, after playing TNM for a while, a few little things started to annoy me that I ought to able to do something about. Things like being on fire without air or that cats don't eat rats like they do in shifter. So naturally I s...

Re: Unofficial: Suggestions, Gameplay Help, and Questions topic.

Cloak can be violent. Sneaking past large numbers of enemies with cloak uses too much bioelectricity. Going up to them and whacking them before they can locate you by ear doesn't. Choice of playing style is always good. But lack of balance doesn't help it. The speed aug is arguably better than run s...
