Thank you, that's much clearer.
Hey, if you don't want to explain it to me you don't have to. It's your prerogative how you choose to help. But I couldn't find any relevant information about how they work on these forums or elsewhere, so if your knowledge can be shared, what's the problem?

Re: Deus Ex Editing PACK 2.2 [RELEASE]
Still very confused. Both DLL's and Morpheus' explanations are quite unclear. effect textures in effects.utx are all created in the editor Oh. So you can only use UnrealEd to make procedural textures? therefore the textures have no code as such (just generated code in the utx file when the effect te...

That certainly would be why. Where would I find the code, then?

Re: Deus Ex Editing PACK 2.2 [RELEASE]
Because WOTgreal couldn't find what I was looking for. I was trying to find 'Effects.Fire.Proj_PRifle' as referenced in DeusEx.PlasmaBolt, but WOTgreal couldn't see it in Effects.utx and I was wondering whether it was hidden in some fashion. At least this is as far as I can remember from last night,...

Re: Deus Ex Editing PACK 2.2 [RELEASE]
By the way... That Deus Ex Extractor and Decompiler is a fucking menace. Just now I wanted to extract some textures and I chose the target folder as the root of my Deus Ex installation, without realising that it erases the folder you extract into first . Not only would I have lost the replaceable De...

Re: Adding mp3 Music
So you did eventually figure out what was meant by 'Music folder'? Can you be more specific?

Re: Why is it so fudging difficult to convert to DX?!
Nevermind, it's because the material ID in the import script was set to 0, when they started at 1. Apparently has nothing to do with the bounding box. I thought the bounding box is drawn depending on the size of the mesh? However the size of the box does seem identical to that of the Pistol, which m...

Re: Why is it so fudging difficult to convert to DX?!
On my pickup model, in-game the body of the weapon seems to show up okay but the barrel seems to have an odd stretched placeholder texture that seems to look something like an icon of a pistol where the one I imported should be. Also the HUD's bounding box only seems to surround the body. Any idea w...

Re: Adding mp3 Music
No, Unreal supports UMX only, which is only tracker formats.

Re: Why is it so fudging difficult to convert to DX?!
Yay, thanks a lot. Phasmatis explains how it is different and it sounds worth having: Jim has very kindly coded a fixed version of 3ds2de. Before you could not have the same effect twice so if you wanted to have two separate textures as translucent you couldn’t but now you can have all the textures ...

Re: Why is it so fudging difficult to convert to DX?!
For reasons that should be apparent I don't like either of those suggestions so I'm just going to carry on collapsing the stack when I want to edit the mesh and then readding the modifier with the mesh selected when I want to edit the UVs. I take it you have been searching high and low for Jim's 3ds...

Re: Why is it so fudging difficult to convert to DX?!
Strange things happen when I try and edit my mesh geometry when it has a Unwrap UVW modifier applied. It appears as though all the coordinates are deleted, or something, and then I have to have all the sub-objects selected if I want to edit their respective co-ordinates in the Edit UVWs dialog. And ...

Re: Why is it so fudging difficult to convert to DX?!
Aha, wonderful!
However, the link given to Jim's new 3ds2de is of course broken. Any ideas where I can grab it in this new decade?
