Re: Looking forward to this

You're right, art doesn't have to be appreciated. Characters could be replaced by walking emoticons. If you don't like it, don't play it. Don't come in HERE and shit on us for our design decisions. Do it on your blog where you're a world leading 3D art critic. I'm not saying the discussion around h...

Re: Looking forward to this

lol sorry for flying off the handle.

And yes the sword is quite awesome. I wish I had a mo-cap suite so I could change the 3rd person attack animations so it doesn't look so ridiculous when they swing the sword.

Re: Looking forward to this

It was a big part of the problem, absolutely. There was no problem. Even from the perspective of the quality of Alex's work, which I don't think is in question, but even if it was it's not like there's free artists everywhere eager to fill his shoes, especially after the troll invasion. If some non...

Re: Looking forward to this

To be fairer to AlexD (now that I have a headache), he had artistic inspiration for recreating the main characters, which didn't go over well when people saw Green Gunther and the Bride of Gunther. I'm not sure what you mean by this. Are you saying that artists don't all draw exactly the same way? ...

Would you have bought DX:HR if it wasn't Deus Ex?

My take:

Take the nostalgia factor away and this game feels bland and uninspired.

Not a bad game but not a good one. Just middle of the road. The only impressive thing is just how well it hit the bulls-eye of mediocrity.

Re: Importing Deus Ex models in Milkshape

Didn't knew HTPD released the source files of their models, great I'll check that out Sorry, my sentence was misleading. The HDTP files haven't been released YET. But they will be released this month. My milkshape -> dx tools will be released around the same time. They all work just fine but I'm wo...

Re: Importing Deus Ex models in Milkshape

Technically there is such a program(kind of) although I haven't finished coding the latest version. Your better off grabbing the skeletons out of the HDTP ms3d files since I've done pretty much all the weapons and a bunch of the characters. Said files will be made public later this month. Also I'm s...

Re: How to load packages easily in Ued2

You could bind all the packages to one key as well:

Space=CLASS LOAD FILE=whatever.u | CLASS LOAD FILE=whatever2.u | CLASS LOAD FILE=whatever3.u

Re: Importing Deus Ex models in Milkshape

Deus Ex only supports vertex animation and Milkshape only supports skeletal animation. However the exporter will perform the conversion so you don't have to worry about it.

The original Deus Ex models were all modeled and animated in Lightwave I think.
