Re: Map Requests

I think expanding the missions is outside the scope of this project. The changes should be cosmetic only, nothing gameplay changing.

Re: New Stuff

You can prove if an image format is lossless or not by saving it as PSD and as BMP, then closing and re-opening the PSD and saving it as BMP. Both files identical? Then it's lossless.

Re: New Stuff

Since when is PSD lossy? It's a lossless format that stores raw pixels, hence the huge filesize?

I keep all my texturing work in PSD format, or PNG format if it has no layers.

Would it be possible to create "generic", less detailed models which could be reskinned for all those people, or would it not be worth the effort?

Re: Why HDTP is not out yet

A HDTP is a bad choice for close-range combat.

An entire world of old-fashioned steam engines is more awesome than just a few steam engines, such as steam locomotives on their own.

Far better than randomly littering posts with asterisks that don't have footnotes associated with them, as some people have been doing lately.

Re: Programmer/person needed

Java's a bit awkward too, since you can't easily make .exes from Java, and have to rely on people having the JDE properly installed and set up to run .jar files.

(Correct me if I'm wrong.)

Re: Programmer/person needed

The problem with .NET / Windows Forms applications is that they need the whole .NET Framework installed and so on (not default in XP and older).

Might be better to write the GUI in the old-and-awkward MFC or something else which doesn't need as many large dependencies.

Re: Programmer/person needed

If you can't get anyone more suitable to do it, I could probably manage to whip up a basic utility to do the needed modifications to the .ini files. I'm not that familiar with the way Deus Ex handles things, though, so I'd probably need specific instructions on what exactly the program should all ch...
