Is there a position for someone with a suave, debonair voice?
Like, say, me?
Actaully, I've been needing to record myself for the mod, cause I'd like to be in it. The only problem I've been having is recording in an area without sound disturbance. Any ideas on how to best capture my voice?
If you're referring to changing the default resolution, then yes, the new .ini file we'll include in the install can be modified to default to the larger resolution.
I wonder why the game would include a choice of running in 1280x1024 if the game won't support that resolution. I know that UT can be run in 1280x1024, so that might be a setting built into the engine that the DX developers just defaulted to 640x480. And Jonas, what's wrong with the game graphically...

Alright, I took a couple screenshots just to compare the differences. On my machine, I notice quite a graphic difference between the Direct3D (DX-9c) and DX OpenGL (v1.14) drivers. Take a look: The Deus Ex logo on the main screen http://www.kalenetwebdesign.com/pics/DX%20Compare_1.jpg I've highlight...
I used the new renderer on 2 different cards, an nVidia GeforceFX 5200 and now on an ATI Radeon 9550. With the GFFX, I noticed a HUGE difference between DirectX and the new OpenGL renderer. With my new ATI card, I...well... Hmm... Now that I think about it, I never ran the game in DirectX on my ATI ...
ok, theoretically, say we included the renderer in the installation package. Could we install it and auto update the players .ini settings? ...tho they would have to switch to openGL to see the effects. If the user has all this installed and switches to directX will they still be able to play it th...
Well, when I played around with the new renderer, I noticed a HUGE difference. There were no jaggies for me, and all the textures and lighting looked perfect! It was definetly an eye-opener, and it made me glad that I found it; DX just didn't cut it, especially for an engine designed to run in OpenG...
You also have to edit the DeusEx.ini file with settings on the site. Here's the settings I got off his site when I first started using the new renderer: [OpenGLDrv.OpenGLRenderDevice] RefreshRate=<your default refresh rate here> DetailTextures=True UseTrilinear=True UseS3TC=True UseTNT=False LODBias...

I hear you, Solid. As an avid Deus Ex player, I've used that man's OpenGL renderer since v 13, and the difference between it and the DirectX render is light and day. The visuals using the new render were phenomenal, and the game looked like it came out years later than it did. I'm going to be headin...
