Re: Science question.

Thanks Jaedar. The whole antimatter thing worries me, if the ship can have negative mass would it not collide with antimatter which also has a negative mass (theoretically), which would obviously cause problems when hurtling through space and of course like you say, how do you apply force to massles...

Re: Science question.

Thanks Jonas. What I have planned doesn't actually involve combat but I do like the idea of a gravity weapon or at least using the gravity manipulating device as a weapon so I may have a think about that.

Re: Science question.

I was ill yesterday and posted this while on co-codamol just before I went to bed and it seems I didn't finish the post. Basically I'm asking if what I propose sounds plausible in a sci-fi setting?

Science question.

This isn't for a hard science world but I would like to base it on some semblance of realism. If a device for manipulating mass and gravity were to be invented (I'm worried I'm getting into Mass Effect territory here), this would partially lead us to long distance space travel because travelling fas...

Re: Maths Problem

Hahaha, that equation was a product of just waking up and not really thinking about it too much. The 90deg is for the second image as I thought that would be easier but this is all for a future problem I will have. Basically, I will be making some curved stairs, the best way to do that is to make a ...

Re: Maths Problem

Thanks guys, what I really need is the length of the missing section straightened out. So I guess I need to find the length of the longest edge. Mathsproblem2.jpg Hmmm, I think a better way for me to do this is to make a tube, this allows me to adjust the inner radius, outer radius and the angle so ...

Maths Problem

Hey guys, maths isn't my strong suit so I'm out sourcing this problem.

How would I find the length of the red line shown in this picture? I know the diameter is 512 so the radius is 256 but that's it.

Re: My Beatem' up

I've decided to try and implement a grab mechanic. I'll be using controllers in the animtree to make it look as though the characters are attached to each other. I'm not sure how well this will work yet but I'm hopeful. Once a character is grabbed you be able to move him back and forth, swap places ...

Re: My Beatem' up

Thanks Cyber I'll look into Bandicam. The fungus armour they wear is actually very tough but yeah weapons will probably be left at the door unless it's the only way a species can fight, like for instance if they have no natural offensive abilities, they're too skinny or too big. It all depends on ho...

Re: My Beatem' up

Thanks guys! I didn't post the plot or setting in the first post as it's not fleshed out at all and will probably change but I thought why not post what I have anyway. It's a bit cheesy but I like it. Many hundreds of years ago, four civilisations were at war. Many lives were lost and their respecti...

Re: My Beatem' up

Cheers bobby, it's very early stages and I'm working on my own but it's going pretty well. I can't wait to get most of the coding done so I can start proper work on the graphics side of things.

My Beatem' up

Hey guys, I've been working with the UDK for quite a while, learning how it works and learning UnrealScript. I've tried designing a few games but they tended to be too complex and it became too difficult to keep up the momentum of development. I always wanted to make a fighter like Mortal Kombat or ...
