Re: HDTP beta
As far as I can tell, it just needed the scaleglow/unlit stuff to be called separately (keeping it in postbeginplay() just didn't work) so: //============================================================================= // Lamp. //=====================================================================...

Re: HDTP beta
Nah, it's fixed now. It just really NEEDED to be told to swap to unlit. Silly DX code.

Re: HDTP beta
I actually DID recode that (back in 2007 apparently).
Its just that I never (I guess?) got around to actually testing it, and because DX code sometimes just doesn't work for no fucking reason, it doesn't actually work (for no fucking reason).
I'll add it to the list. *sigh*

Re: Paul's skin bug
Huh, probably just me mis-assigning some variables. I'll doublecheck. Yep. Fuck.
Seems odd that it'd take this long for someone to spot it, though. Shows you how many people use the non-default JC, I guess.
I'll add it to the list of fixes.

Re: What are you playing?
I'm toying with playing that. I've been a kickstarter backer of D:OS since like, forever (I really quite enjoyed the DII: dragon knight game, and when I read that larian were planning to do things like "cast spell of stupidity, enemy stands in lava because 'ooh shiny'.." I was pretty much sold). ......

Re: GMDX: Gameplay Mod. (HDTP Compatible)
Just fyi, the other secbot is entirely good to go, since basically all the bot code is in robot, not the respective bot classes themselves.
It just looks a bit 80s Sci-fi, in all honesty. And should probably be called 'Calvin' or something.

Re: Ideas on how to make glowing textures for meshes?
Import line: #exec MESH LODPARAMS MESH=YOURMESHNAMEHERE STRENGTH=SOMELOWNUMBER 1 is (I believe) default, so SOMELOWNUMBER can be basically anything lower than that, and it (as far as I'm aware) either applies less stringent LOD scaling, or simply starts the LOD scaling at greater distances from the ...

Re: Ideas on how to make glowing textures for meshes?
You could be right, for "actually modern" machines. I know switching from vanilla to HDTP makes a noticable difference to my poor ca. 8 year old laptop with an onboard gfx card, so there IS a difference, but this may be so small as to be irrelevant on any half-decent hardware (in which case it would...

Re: Ideas on how to make glowing textures for meshes?
I'd say starting off with a 1.7k poly model that you're going to spam everywhere is a pretty bad idea for the poor ageing unreal engine. Does it really need to be that high-definition?
Of course, LOD scaling should help, but it's often quite...ugly.

Re: Ideas on how to make glowing textures for meshes?
If you can't open and modify the mesh in a nice easy 3D modelling program, the only other option is a dirty, ugly trick. Have two meshes, one sliiiiiiightly bigger than the other. The first is your lamp post, the second is your lamp post again, but with a texture that is JUST the light portion, with...

Re: HDTP beta
Neither of those are HDTP-related (or if they are I have NO idea how they would be). None of the aug code has changed, and while energy shield was always an amazing aug against plasma and...basically plasma, it shouldn't be 100%, though honestly outside of Omega where it's super useful, I've never u...

Re: GMDX: Gameplay Mod. Final Version Released (HDTP Compati
FWIW, here's the nade code. It's ridiculously simple: basically multiply the player's accuracy by 10 (acc decreases as it gets better, so larger numbers are worse) and then also use the player's accuracy to adjust the distance thrown (+ random factor). So at untrained you throw a grenade and it migh...

Re: What are you playing?
I decided to look through my backlog, and opted for..dungeon siege 3. It's..interesting. Full disclaimer, I never managed to stick with either dungeon siege 1 or 2 long enough to get any idea of any kind of plot (and to be honest, the first game was basically: "you are a farmer...MONSTERS APPEAR ZOM...
