Thought you might like to know.

That is all.
Given what I know about ME3, especially the stuff about EDI and Joker, whenever I think of that game I feel vaguely sick.

Not "ideal", "idealized". And I don't want to carry on this discussion over semantics.

Re: Sexism in games (Kingdoms of Amalur case study)

Pandering is a hugely loaded term, used here rather unfairly, I feel. You claim that everyone is arguing with you because they fail to see problems with pandering...when a more accurate statement would be "not everyone is arguing with you, though some of us are arguing with you because we fail to s...

Re: Sexism in games (Kingdoms of Amalur case study)

Like I said earlier, I just don't have the energy/willpower for a serious in depth discussion of sex roles and societal effects when I have to struggle to get anything I say understood. I'd much rather stick to lighter stuff like joking with jonas and linking the writings of other people at this poi...

Re: Sexism in games (Kingdoms of Amalur case study)

I don't really have a point here beyond that article's, which I agree with. I didn't post it to start an argument, or post it in response to somebody. I posted it because it's an interesting, well written article about sexism in games, and this is the sexism in games thread. If you'll notice in the ...

Re: Sexism in games (Kingdoms of Amalur case study)

JSL: I thought it was a pretty simply question: is it A or B? It actually takes more time to quote me and add a wallbang smiley than it does answer the question. WHICH YOU STILL DIDN'T FUCKING ANSWER. From my last post where I was trying: And it's not just that they SAY bitch, it's that they hammer...

Re: Sexism in games (Kingdoms of Amalur case study)

I've lost a lot of my will to carry on this debate, because of things like this:

Re: Sexism in games (Kingdoms of Amalur case study)

(and apparently assumes that if you call someone a bitch then you're a rapist. No, seriously) Like every bad guy discussion on Harley Quinn is either how retarded and worthless she is as a leader, or how much they want to fuck her, regardless of permission, or both at once. The stuff they say about...

Re: Sexism in games (Kingdoms of Amalur case study)

You're reading me wrong. I'm pretty sure deliberately, because I'm pretty sure the concept of images being systemic, widespread, all over media compared to an uncommon exception should not be hard to grasp.

Here have a song in reward for understanding my point and not deliberately misinterpreting it while constantly trying to throw in off topic "but what about guys? :qq:" tangents.

Re: What are you playing?

I've been replaying Zelda: Oracle of Seasons, the GBC game, when I'm in a mobile gaming situation for the last few days. Replayed both GBA Metroids and Link to the Past before that. I've been on a mobile kick, lately. I started to replay the GBA Castlevanias but was surprised to find that they (or a...

Re: Sexism in games (Kingdoms of Amalur case study)

It's not that she's not a sexist design, clearly somebody's getting their kicks with that absurdity, somebody that seems to have some deep issues with women (and I'd bet a mother fetish), it's that she's not a damaging design. It's like the difference between your grandpa muttering about black peopl...
