Re: Deus Ex: Human Renovation (fan patch/mod)
To fire actual secondary ammotypes they'd need to have the ability to search through their weapon's ammonames, check they have the corresponding ammo for that, then convert those to damagetypes, THEN run all those options through switchtobestweapon to select the alternative ammo. They currently hav...

Re: Deus Ex: Human Renovation (fan patch/mod)
Under what circumstances do they seem to be trying to use them? NPCs should probably never be using secondary ammo types. I made a 6 round MGL Grenade Launcher that works for the player, but NPC can't use it. Secondary ammo types could increase the difficulty a bit. If the weapon fires rockets it w...

Re: Deus Ex: Human Renovation (fan patch/mod)
Did find something odd. I know it isn't practical in a normal Deus Ex Game but NPCs can't use 20mm Grenades for some reason. They just stand there shooting at the player but no projectile class ever spawns lol..

Re: Deus Ex: Human Renovation (fan patch/mod)
Does the noise level of the weapon have an effect on the radius of distress? Stupid Question.

Re: Deus Ex: Human Renovation (fan patch/mod)
Just an update on the firing sound mod. It makes things very interesting, but not impossible in regards to stealth. But say a terrorist shoots at you, his buddies in the immediate area will hear it and help.

Re: Deus Ex: Human Renovation (fan patch/mod)
I'm very interested about those results Captn Destro. I though I was the only one bothered by the gun shots. What about explosions? It seems that they suffer from the same problem. If an NPC is not close enough to the explosion they completely ignore it. PS: Sorry to spam your thread with non-relat...

Re: Deus Ex: Human Renovation (fan patch/mod)
I'll boot up Unreal Ed right now and see how it goes with my mod. (Since the enemies in it are set at max hearing wise.) This will be rather hilarious.. Looks like I already edited all the weapons. Must have been drunk. Pending Change here is what I have as far as Noise Level. Some sounds levels are...

Re: Deus Ex: Human Renovation (fan patch/mod)
Hey guys I had one suggestion. I was tweaking my own copy of TNM and my Modern Combat mod. The weapons in the actual game are just too quiet. Some NPC's won't notice a gun shot even if they are only 100 feet away. It just bugs me a little since 10mm/762 is pretty loud. Most NPC by default seem deaf....

Re: Terminus Machina - A DX Mod
The Combat Style -1 makes it so the NPCs shoot at a distance instead of running up to you like idiots just to be in the maximum effective range (pistols as an example.) Also the use back up weapon function is hilarious. If you rush a bad guy head on he will pull out a knife or sword and take you dow...

Re: Terminus Machina - A DX Mod
Change the AI Style of the NPCs to a Sniper. I think thats what I did in the Modern Weapons mod.
Combat-> Combat Style -1 as a setting.
Also making the hearing and vision more sensitive makes it a bit more realistic. Helps with reaction time and making combat much better.

Re: Terminus Machina - A DX Mod
Anybody know how the "Move" and "MoveSmooth" functions work? I'm trying to get my predator drone-like UAV to fly but it seems like these functions stop working after like 2 seconds? I've got the vector set to (10,0,0) to make them move steadily on the X Axis, and I stuck the Move() function in the ...

The future soldier program prototype looks cheesy. It looks like a Halo Suit.

Re: It feels like the real world is starting to reflect DX
Like I said - rational discussion takes a nose-dive out the window the moment you start comparing things to 1984. I will make no further comment to you if you feel that way and don't feel like contributing to the discussion. No need to waste each others, and this board's time by starting a potentia...

Re: It feels like the real world is starting to reflect DX
Is there really any point in making such statements? If you don't care for such a discussion why bother chiming in. I'm not comparing it directly to 1984, but there are certain aspects that are tough to ignore. I'm trying not to be completely serious at all. It just make for an interesting/en...
