Re: Map Requests
By the way, who wants to do Hong Kong? I've completed the picture-taking stuff for it. Still going through other maps but I think it makes sense to have one person per 'section' of the game rather than have people overlapping. I can probably do that. I do have a question since I have noticed that w...

Re: Secret Deus Ex Conversations
It's odd that someone would notice that these conversations exist and then not realize that the Smuggler conversation does change if you rescue Ford before meeting him. (As near as I can tell, the only problem with putting that in is that it would require suppressing or altering an infolink message ...

Re: Deus Ex 3 - I'll just leave this here
Also, apparently Gunthers lines change slightly if you don't kill her but I'd need to check that... They do. No, I cannot forgive. No... not the killing of Agent Navarre. I will follow you. Denton, I will get you! Is only played if you've actually killed her and: You are a small, prowling mouse. An...

Re: Deus Ex 3 - I'll just leave this here
I'm told that if you run away after encountering him it is quite possible to complete the mission without dealing with him. Yup. Gunther may be a walking killing machine whose augmented eyes have been patched into a satellite feed allowing him to follow your every move in the infrared and x-ray spe...

Re: Deus Ex 3 - I'll just leave this here
Deus Ex did a generally bad job of reliably distinguishing between dead and unconscious, part of the reason being that it usually didn't matter that much. The conversations rarely needed to take that into account, the in game text was specifically set up so that the same text would always apply no m...

Re: Deus Ex 3 - I'll just leave this here
I kinda view it more as a sort of 'precipitative sonic boom' effect rather than actual gravitational lensing or whatever: I don't really assume it to be gravitational either. I would assume an atmopsheric cause rather than gravitational one, but given that I can't come up with a reasonable atmosphe...

Re: New Visions not working
Even if you already have DirectX10 installed, you might want to consider installing it anyway. I was only able to use that renderer after installing it even though my computer assured me I already had it.

Re: Bodyguard mod?
That's a clever bind.. but I was wondering if this really works.. I think you should first SUMMON PaulDenton (or others) then apply stuff through set commands, then delete it and spawn it back again.. something like this: B=summon pauldenton|set pauldenton alliance player|set pauldenton orders foll...

Re: Deus Ex 3 - I'll just leave this here
I can't tell if you guys are okay with the lensing or not, personally I think it's fine. I don't really care either way, but I do think it is important for interpretation. When AJ hits someone he's got pretty much the equivalent of brass knuckles on all the time except that there's more mass behind...

Re: Deus Ex 3 - I'll just leave this here
EDIT: @Jonas: What I wanted to say with that short clip is just what they said there: you want the NPC to be "unconscious" not "comatose". With those animations I expect the NPCs to end up in the morgue not waking up the next morning with a terrible hang-over ;) Really? Because it looked incredibly...

Re: Bodyguard mod?
This is from memory, so it could be wrong, but I think that what you want is something like this: set pauldenton alliance player|set pauldenton orders following|summon pauldenton (Replace "pauldenton" with the name of whoever your preferred npc is) If that is right then what you do is you open up th...

Re: Bodyguard mod?
Spawning an NPC and having them follow you around a map is pretty simple. I used to have it set up so a single keystroke would summon 10 loyal fire breathing greasels who would follow me around and smite my enemies. (As I recall there was some trouble with them not being proactive enough, they were ...

Re: Congratulations, you crazy bastard
Should we start a new thread be started for problems that will require a mapper to fix? It doesn't seem like the "Congratulations" thread should be weighed down with, "There's more work to do."

Re: Congratulations, you crazy bastard
I don't want to take away from praising Dave, but if I could take a moment to not praise Dave, (note "mostly", not diminishing NVShacker, Trestkon, Lawrence and all others who helped)... (Emphasis added.) They're different people?! I've tried various follow ups to that question, and none really full...
