Some people don't understand genius. I find myself replaying/modding/tweaking TNM more then Deus Ex itself tbh.

That's not even really a complaint, he just doesn't like the game.

I can't remember my Steam forum password, but if you want to post again, tell him he can change his renderer if he hasn't fixed his graphical issues (instructions are in the Troubleshooting section of the PDF) and advise him to at least play past the first part until he's chosen his allegiances before he gives up on it, as that's when most people tend to find the game picks up speed

well this I can't understand.
*love* Deus Ex.

But I've tried only two custom weapons and they've been enough to make me dislike it. Seriously, the pump gun is absolutely useless, it has less range than the shotgun, and the pistol, awesome as it looks, can not function well with their added crosshair at all. I saw people thinking the character creation was awesome which led me to believe it would be more than "trenchcoat or no trenchcoat" and "sunglasses or no sunglasses." I must admit I am impressed at the dialog, I chose a trenchcoat, and was told "Nice coat, by the way; you're really rocking the JC Denton." but the gameplay is just bad to me. The crosshair is abysmal with most weapons. When I used to easily get headshots from medium range in Deus Ex I have to be half a foot away before I can use it here. The fists are useless once you get a baton.

I don't like what I've played, but I'll play more later, if you say it's that good.
It baffles the hell out of me. Crosshair's suck period if you are untrained so.. I think he's doing something wrong. Maybe he didn't specialize in one skill and they are all spread as trained? D:

Hah, that is kind of a weird complaint, but if it doesn't work for him, there's no arguing with that. Thanks for encouraging him to give it another chance.

I thought the pump gun had longer range than the sawed-off by the way...

It does but it's much weaker, The range/accuracy(Spread)/clip size makes up for it though. Honestly I'm a rifle man though and I carry two shotguns. I sort of skip the auto shotgun so the space is only 2 slots more. Lately though I've been playing with a tweaked rate of fire. Sawed off at 1.3 Firerate and Pumpgun at 1.7 are pretty cool (though not what you guys set lol). Instead of reloading during a conflict you can just whip out another shotgun. Or have one ready with sabot if pesky security bots come up.

After playing other games I think the default pumps are too slow. There is just no sense of urgency even in heavy combat. That's DX vanilla's way of trying to balance though I suppose.

DX was always a pretty slow game. Slow run speed, slow fire rates, slow reloads :-)

DX isnĀ“t a run and gunner.

All about sneaking up and popping a cap and dissapearing, just the way I like it...
A full-out gunfigt you're bound to fail.

Sadly enough, it appears you cannot do that anymore these days.

Ah but the great thing about Deus Ex is that gunfights are totally viable as long as you've got the right equipment, the right skillset, and the right augs. Even if you don't, a sort of middle-ground between stealth and combat usually works well - a sort of hit-and-run tactic if you will, guerilla style.

As Jonas said, use a Turtle build and all-open gunfights are as much a viable play style as a full-out stealth approach.

Can't tell if trolling...
I'm hating the way that when you pull out a gun everyone goes "OMG PLZ NO" and some people turn hostile.

Um... has this guy even played the regular Deus Ex lol.. Let me guess he pulled out a weapon in a certain bar..

It's really hard to miss the huge "no weapons" sign on the wall isn't it

I'm sure that would be quite a universal response if I were to pull a gun out in a real life bar.
Well, the "OMG PLZ NO" response anyway.

He did bring up a good point though. Pulling out a Spork or Foon should not get you shot up lmfao... Especially at Sol's Bar and Grill... where food is served >_<

They are known weapons in the TNM universe though.
Not to mention all food seems edible without extensions in the DX universe...

They did fix that everyone went rogue on pulling out your fists :).
