Let's Play Question

Hey there!

So I've noticed that TNM has no real Let's Play, aside from the old one made by Let's Play PC 6 years ago.

So I've decided to make my own one! However, I don't know, if anyone is interested in it. I'll probably do it, even if noone cares, just asking for input.

I've recorded the first ~2 hours of the game so far. Trying to make it interesting, though, my voice is not the best out there, and I am not a native english speaker. I try not to talk too much and never talk over the dialogue.

So... anyone interested?

Also, which side should I join?

I'll post the links once it gets uploaded.

Thanks!

I mean... yeah, I'd be interested, if I count ;)

Dunno what side you should join - I think I prefer the WorldCorp missions, personally.

Sure, go ahead... Let's see if I still remember everything from my walkthrough writing days (probably not). Don't forget to use 1.0.4+ ;)

WorldCorp it is!

In other news some person has pulled off a speedrun. It's hilarious how much stuff they skip over.

Well some status updates... I've made the first ~2 hours of footage, though I need to find a program to render the video and audio through (how glad would I be for a Linux machine right now...)

Anyway, probably gonna make it, my voice sucks though and my english articulation is not the best out there... So sort of disappointed that I won't be delivering the highest quality content (this game really deserves high quality content) and I am worried I'll do a disservice to the game in the end because of it...

I would not mind to see such a video!

Alright I've been testing this a lot on and off, due to time constraints it's been all shitty and stuff.

But I should probably get to work soon, hopefully within a few months I should make a few parts of the Let's Play.

The question is though, should I wait for 1.0.5 or should I play with 1.0.4?

Use 1.0.4+ by Hassat Hunter. It's the most complete version of TNM.

If you're waiting on 1.0.5 you might as well also wait for HL3 and a non-disappointing Duke Nukem Forever.

Yeah 1.0.5 is... basically just a disarranged collection of files on my computer. At this point it doesn't look like it'll ever happen.

The sadness is that it was actually good to go on my end, but we tried to cram a bunch of HDTP stuff in there for easier compatibility, and that fucked up all sorts of things, and then we didn't have the time to sort it all out again so the project kind of died.

Jonas, is it possible to release the base files for 1.0.5 as they are right now? Not as a patch of course, but as a base for a fan-made patch. It probably won't turn out to be as great as the OTP team would've wanted, but it's better than nothing.

There are probably reasons why you wouldn't want it to be released as it is, but if it's not going to be worked on it just seems like a waste.

Also, maybe use git for it? That way everybody knows it's incomplete and there won't be any confusion about its status.

Ditto!

I'd love to have them if only for archival purposes.

I can send you some stuff if you'll be willing to test it. I don't actually know how functional it all is right now. Just PM me your email address.

Defaultplayer001 is heading the documentation efforts, so I'll leave this up to him. If he doesn't contact you (read: Defaultplayer001, post here when it's done) I'll do so.
I have uni exams weighing on me for the next month so I'll have little time for it myself.

Did my best to weed out the relevant files. Should be in your inbox :)
