Teknikal's Art Request Thread

Post by teknikal »

Okay, now back in my original thread a bunch of you gave me a few requests.
Now I did draw Kylie for Jonas, but for some horrible reason I was rude and never drew anyone else! However I stumbled on my old handwritten to-do list the other day, so I'm gonna keep my word and draw them.

First up: Chris the Cynic requested by Chris the Cynic of course! :D (excuse the hi-res!)

Image
Hope ya like it Chris. :) I'd argue what you said in the old thread about your coat being brown; it's a really strong brownish red unless my colour picker lies to me!

Still to do:
OiNutter
Yardbomb
NVShacker

Ok thats not much of a list... but yeah as soon as I'm done with drawing them feel free to request and add to the list!
(I might add that I'll be drawing That Guy soon too 'cause I need to practise him for the poster; so keep an eye out Shane! ;))

Hmm NVShacker strikes me as a boring choice, he's really just a plain guy in a suit. He's a cool character of course, but visually he's not that interesting. But of course if you want to draw him, I'm not gonna stop you. I'm looking more forward to seeing That Guy with that cybernetic eye thingy of his :D

Out of interest, how do you make sure the proportions are correct in your drawings?

Ah but thats the thing... character design is more than just appearance, it's factoring in personality through gesture and pose and blah blah blah, smart arty talk, etc. :P Heck NVShacker asked so I shall deliver!

Oh and I've started That Guy already. So expect it soon.

Ummm. Practise? LOL that's a tough one to answer 'cause i just... draw. Well lets see... references, practise and generally working things out by eye. I usually start with a light or rough sketch to lay out the proportions and then clean it up and refine it as I go. It's a lot of simply working it out on the fly, if that makes sense. :D

Oh and LOL @ shane.

It annoys me that the government firewall is blocks all the image. Oh well, I'll just imagine how awesome it looks until I get home, and confirm it \o/

Actually, just DA. It's pretty forgiving and I can get to a lot of sites, but not that one :(

Just checked, that's blocked, too. It's likely they have most of those sorts of sites blocked. No worries, though, it just means I have to wait a few hours :)

Well, the day you find something that isn't blocked let me know. :)
No government firewall is going to stop my art dammit... T_T

...and by the way, anyone know where Chris is? This was for him after all.

Well that sucks, I was hoping for some extraordinary secret to get perfect proportions every time but it turns out you need talent.

*grumbles while drawing disproportionate people*

If you get time I would love a full character pic of my character. :D

Love your new pics Teknikal, particularly liking the current TNM poster! I'll have to have a proper browse to see what you've been up to! ;) I should really get round to doing zero presence again, he's an interesting character to draw with his cybernetic blue lines. Think I'll start a new pic this time though, my style has changed quite a bit since I did that rough start all those months ago.
