Are the characters styled upon their real-life counterparts?
Probably slightly, right? Certain things must be exaggerated for comical-effect, like Jonas' ego...(I'm trying to think of another outrageous yet plausible character...OiNutter?) But is there a grain of truth in some?
wink wonk

Yes. Trestkon is badass in real life and will shoot you in the face if you fuck with him. I'm kidding, I honestly can't say. I'd assume they'd be similar but then slightly exaggerated for entertainment purposes. But then you see characters like Jonas who are seem significantly different from their forum counter-part.
I think they captured Ghand pretty well IMO though lol.

OiNutter is outrageously entertaining on the forums, Jonas is a 'busy man ', DDL really eats Greasels for breakfast, and Trestkon is Canadian. Take from that what you will.

Oh, and Jonas ego isn't exaggerated.
Can somebody tell me how I can get a custom avatar?
Oh wait, I already got one...

Most of them are styled upon the online personalities of their real-life counterparts.
Who knows if Oi is crazy in real life? Or if King Kashue is an authoritative font of knowledge? I'm pretty sure Chris the Cynic doesn't run around spewing Deus Ex trivia, but you'll see him do it on the forums all the time. I don't believe Despot is actually a hideously disfigured recluse, but he's barely present in the Deus Ex community. I believe Ghand was relatively sane, or at least coherent, but on the Internet he acted like he was completely off his rocker. Ryan has always been sporting the most outrageously unstable personality, and DDL... well, I've met him in real life, and he is exactly like that. Exactly like that. That Guy and NVShacker are also pretty close to their real personalities - it helps that they recorded their own lines of course.
And no, my ego isn't exaggerated

Remind me to hit you with a bat in real-life for not giving me free shit in-game and being an asshole in general then, lol. The term "misunderstood" may be useful here.

Your problem would be that the only major difference between in-game Jonas and real-life Jonas is that real-life Jonas has the black belt in every known form of martial art, is strong enough to lift a house, and fast enough to outrun a train.

There are flaws and then there are defects so huge that they could probably consume existence if given the chance.Jonas wrote:All good characters must have flaws.
This is obviously not the second kind.

The voices speak to me... they tell me things... they tell me to kill, bleed, annihilate... DESTROY. DESTROY EVERYTHING! ALL WILL DIE! The smell of burning flesh, rotting, decaying. The sound of laughter, the touch of death.Jonas wrote:Your problem would be that the only major diffrence between in-game Jonas and real-life Jonas is that real-life Jonas has the black belt in every known form of martial art, is strong enough to lift a house, and fast enough to outrun a train.
The voices speak to me... they tell me to burn you. The voices... they feed me, consume me, help me grow. Help me live. And all who oppose The Voices shall die. Everyone will burn and the feast I shall have from their rotting flesh shall be my reward!

You're fined 1000 creds for over acting.

No you misunderstand, I'm not a super hero in need of a super villain nemesis. Granted, there are some who know me only as Game Design Man, but I don't much care for those fan boys. I just want to exist in peaceful denial of my super powers, with my trusty feline sidekicks.
