How the fuck did the thief of my party turn into a house throwing train out running Kung Fu knowing stand alone badass?

Also, welcome to these forums Grammatolatry. As you can probably tell, my character is pretty closely based on how I am and was at the PDX forums. Might not seem it these days, given how little activity we've had over there. Actually, I might be a little more verbose (the priory convo and JFK convo are both in need of serious disclaimers or footnotes or something.)
Anyway, it is a lot more active here but there is less discussion of classics.

He didn't put a lot of ranks in Bluff, and so he knows not when to stop.chris the cynic wrote:How the fuck did the thief of my party turn into a house throwing train out running Kung Fu knowing stand alone badass?

Re non classics. You let us non tertiary educated (bless you) types join the fray.

Oh.
Well on the other hand I'm studying for a Master in Game Design, so it's not exactly science, you know

Still you'll have a better chance at being a despotic multi-media baron.

Oh sorry, I was trying to act "in-character".Jonas wrote:No you misunderstand, I'm not a super hero in need of a super villain nemesis. Granted, there are some who know me only as Game Design Man, but I don't much care for those fan boys. I just want to exist in peaceful denial of my super powers, with my trusty feline sidekicks.

Thanks, Bobby, and Chris. I've finally cottoned on to the fact this is where the party is going oooon. Ahem.
Mm, yeah I noticed in-game that your character reflects your PDX personality quite well. It could be compared to a fount of wisdom, although knowing about AI's isn't all that wisdom-y. A fount of something. Either way you spout a lot of smart stuff.
Game design = nifty. You get to create your own world, albeit not live in it. Can't have your cake and eat it, too.

I do tend to get carried away. Some would say not far enough.lol.
If you choose to hang around on the forums here, I'll think you'll find them an intelligent engaging bunch, not afraid to call a spade the proverbial shovel. But I see you come from the antipodes, as do a few of us here, where that is considered a plus. The people (in game)that choose to visit the forums you will have a chance to judge for yourself, but I find them even more entertaining here than in the game.

REPRESENT.
There have been some pretty epic coincidences along these lines in the PDX forums.

Re: Are the characters styled upon their real-life counterparts?
Indeed. For those who want to know how we started talking about classics over at PDX, it happened something like this:
Grammatolatry asked if anyone else was in University. After some discussion she discovered she was in the same University as Alginon. Studying along the same lines. Shortly after that someone also from the same university decided that, what with a discussion of the University going on, now might be a good time to stop lurking. Or something like that.
She brought Alginon real cake. (Not-a-lie cake.) Surely that is the important part.
This thread also mentioned the ancient Egyptians, Greeks, and Romans, thus a classics discussion was started.
Rereading the beginning of said discussion has indicated to me just how much I repeat myself. Remember the Garden of Eden snake thing I said recently? Said it there too.
[Added:] This may be "where the party is going oooon" but there is still some fun to be had over at PDX.
