So as we start to look towards releasing the mod, I'm thinking about what tracks we should put on the soundtrack CD. Here's the full list of candidates:

Theme Track (Leo)
Phasmatis' Apartment and PDX HQ (Leo)
Despot's apartment (The Horror, Trent)
FC Downtown (City Lights, Ahmatron)
FC Corporate (Glass and Metal, Ahmatron)
FC Slums (Urban Decay, Ahmatron)
Sol's Bar (Leo)
Partyzone (The Party Zone, SpiritVII)
Voodoo Shop (Spirits, Ahmatron)
WorldCorp HQ (Frequency Modulated, Steve Foxon)
DXO Hideout (Hideout, Ahmatron)
Goat City and Templae (Sensei)
Llama Temple (Esoteric Semblance, Graeme Arthur)
Server Complex - New (Sub Stance, Steve Foxon)
Server Complex - Old (Strange String Thing, Steve Foxon)
Deus Ex Incarnate - Ruins (Facility, Redd and Steve)
Deus Ex Incarnate - Moderator area and HQ (Under the Earth, Redd)
Deus Ex Incarnate - Caverns (Cathedral of Rocks, Steve Foxon)
ABI Official Complex (Rewired, Steve and Sensei)
ABI Underground Complex (Ice-olated, Steve and Sensei)
HTTP GameSpy (Leo)
Trestkon's Radish Adventure (Dumpster Lament, Leo)
Intro cinematic (Leo)
Credits (Looking At You)

Now, the TNM Theme and Looking At You are definitely going on there. It's probably easier to say what shouldn't go on there rather than what should. I'd probably leave out Dumpster Lament, the Intro track, and Under the Earth. That leaves 21 tracks, how does that sound? We also still need names for Leo's tracks, but I'll leave that to Leo for now.

Hi. Hope you're all well. I, of course am OK with any of mine being included.

I just wanted to point a couple of things out if you don't mind? Firstly, the ABI Official and Underground need to have a credit for the other chap whose music I enhanced - was it Sensei? Secondly, for the DXI Ruins and Caverns, I didn't use anything of Redd's music in the end, it was completely from scratch. That is unless you are using some of his stuff as well of course?

Also, just to let you know I should be dong my voice recording this weekend.

Cheers all.

That's what I'm asking, really. How many tracks do you want to include? 16? 18? 20?

We should also consider that there's a certain amount of work involved turning these divided soundtracks into non-looping single CD tracks, so if we include 20 tracks, it's gonna take a while to get them all sorted out.

Credits fixed, thanks Steve :)

Right in that case I think 16-18 should be enough. If ppl still want more they will take them out of the install.

We can leave out the Intro and Sol's Bar. But I'd like it if the alternative Sol's Bar ambient could be included.

Oh, and Dumpster Lament could also be left out.

And I already have my tracks edited so they can work in a non-looping environment so there-s no stress on that part for me.

For me, my Candidates for not being on there would be DXI Caverns (way to Ambient to be listened to on its own I think), DXI Ruins and then the Word Corp HQ Sub Ambient one. Note, there are 3 for WorldCorp HQ, and I'd like both of the others to be on if possible.

So, don't know how that works out for you?

I'll need to edit myself, or are we just OK with a fade out?

I'll more than likely have all my tracks available on my site anyway (presuming that's OK with you guys).

Cheers.

Hm actually I was planning to include the alternate versions with the normal versions, so both of the WC HQ ones in the same track - but if that's not gonna work, we have a somewhat longer list of potential tracks. I would definitely pick the alternate Sol's Bar over the normal one, I love that track and it gets so little exposure in the actual mod.

Good point about the DXI caverns, Steve, though I do like that track. Fade outs are accepted, but we both know it's the coward's way to end a piece of music ;)

Go right ahead and put the tracks on your site, even disregarding the fact that YOU made them, TNM will be released under this license:
http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-sa/3.0/us/

So as long as you credit the creators and you don't make any money off of it, you can use anything from the mod. And since you DID create your tracks, you can pretty much do what you want with them, including selling them for profit if you like :)

I shall try and go for non fades where possible, but I was more concerned with the Sensei ones I enhanced, where it's a *real* pain to edit the original projects - so all but those will have decenet endings.

I think the HQ alternates are too different to work together as one track, plus that would give you an 18 minutes track!

Anyway, I am happy to go with whatever you guys want to be honest - after all it's your baby :) Just let me know which ones you want, and I'll sort the ednings for you etc.

Cheers.

Alright well how's this list then?

01 Theme Track (Leo)
02 PDX HQ 1 (Leo)
03 Despot (Trent)
04 FC Downtown (Ahmatron)
05 FC Corporate 1 (Ahmatron)
06 FC Slums 1 (Ahmatron)
07 Sol's Bar 2 (Leo)
08 Partyzone (??? - SpiritVII)
09 WorldCorp HQ (Steve)
10 Goat City and Templae (Sensei)
11 Llama Temple (Graeme)
12 New Server Complex (Steve)
13 Old Server Complex (Steve)
14 Deus Ex Incarnate Ruins (Steve)
15 ABI Official Complex (Steve)
16 ABI Underground Complex (Steve)
17 HTTP GameSpy (Leo)
18 Looking At You (Leo)

(The numbers are to make counting easier, I'd like to put Leo in charge of ordering the tracks.)

I'd prefer only to use one of the WorldCorp tracks, because otherwise I'd have to leave out something else, and I'd rather not. Or we COULD of course make it 20 tracks instead of 18 - as long as we can fit it on the CD, right? That would make room for the PDX HQ 02 track as well, which I really like - even if it is a bit too heavy on the distorted guitar for an ambient track.

How do you guys think we should set these tracks up, btw? In the original Deus Ex soundtrack, they actually moved through all the events for each track, so the "NYC Street" track for example started with the ambient part, then segued into the convo, combat, and death parts. I'm not too keen on that solution since I doubt it'd create a very good cohesion in the track list. The problem with just sticking to the ambient tracks, though, is that some of our convo and combat tracks are really good.

What do you think?

Looks good to me. I don't think having the Convo's etc would work myself, and that would probably be more work involved getting them to crossfade and the like.

If just one WorldCorp HQ, Id prefer the first one, but the 2nd is fine. The 3rd is again probably too ambient?

Oh, and sorry to mention this agin, but the DXI ruins was also from scratch by me ;)

Cheers.

Actually I'll just change the credits on that second list to show who needs to ensure the tracks are good to use (in other words put the intro and the ambient back together and replace the loop with a proper ending). Does anybody want to assume responsibility for the Partyzone one, since Spirit is gone for good? I'll try to get Sensei, Trent, and Graeme to fix up their respective tracks.

Shit now I feel awful. Nah, I have no problem in making proper endings though.

And no problem on doing the sequencing either.
