Pre-emptive nostalgia - New Vision through the years!

Post by DaveW »

4 years is a long time. From time to time (when I've been incredibly bored) it's been fun to flip through the legacy thread right there at the bottom of the forum, just to see what the old screenshots looked like. New Vision has come a long way so I thought it would be interesting to get some before/after shots!

I almost asked for these screenshots in the other thread.

The world looks like it changed from being cobbled from rocks, to being made out of building materials. 'Before' also looks new, while 'After' looks weathered, realistic and fitting in tone. I forgot how stupid the cobbled cathedral looked before. NV actually seems to change the lighting appearance, from "There is a light on here" to "This area is lit". The stone computers are odd, but anyone who likes the Punk in Cyber-Punk will appreciate the dinginess and sign-interlacing.

The first thing I thought 'those old screenshots look better than I thought', then I realized it was NV v1, instead of vanilla DX :)

Number 1 of 14,888 on Moddb right now. :P
Thanks Dave! The mod looks fantastic!
The real trouble with reality is that there's no background music.
