New Vision Beta - Bug Reports

Decided to make a seperate topic for this, this is where you report any bugs/problems you encounter while using New Vision - screenshots are preferred.

Bugs/problems may include;
-Badly tiling textures
-Textures looking out of place in an environment
-Problems with transparancy
-Anything else you think is wrong!

Bad texture alignments are not included. It's possible the compiling process screws some texture alignments up but most likely, it's something that just didn't notice with low resolution textures.

Known issues
-UNATCO seal isn't transparant
-Hong Kong sign outside police station isn't transparant
-UNATCO still too grungey
-CoreTexTiles hasn't compiled correctly
-MolePeople is missing (don't ask...)
-Radar and UNATCO medical system animations are broken
-Castle Clinton sign text too big
-Page Industries constructor texture doesn't work
-Chainlink pipe texture thing used incorrectly in some maps and looks shit

Hey everyone, long-time follower, first-time talker-er on these forums. Just wanted to say amazing job on the texturing, its absolutely fantastic and its rekindled my interest in Deus Ex again for the 13th time.

Anyway I thought i'd point out that the basketball court in Hell's Kitchen, where you save that guy from the NSF thugs, has brick walls surrounding it, and each panel of wall has the exact same graffiti on it. No big deal, and I don't have a screenshot for it sorry, but i thought you'd like to know.

Anyway thanks again for all your hard work, its truly paying off, and i await eagerly for the next release. :P

All right. I've found a number of things, but I'm not going to embed them because my screen size is 1680x1050.

1) The 'Page Industries' texture in the Constructor package doesn't tile right on anything besides the constructor or Page's bubble in Area 51.

2) One of the cabinets in the basement of the NSF HQ has a very strange chain-link texture on it. The same thing has happened to the subway cars in TNM.

3) The skyline texture in Hell's Kitchen doesn't look right, like a mix of high-res and low-res buildings.

4) There's a strange rim on the bottom of the NSF barracks at Lebedev Airfield.

The graffiti is out of my hands, it repeated in the original and I can't change texture assignments in the maps.

1)I can't remember if the original had that text or not, maybe I scaled it wrong or something. Or..made it up. Shall look into it.
2)Damn TNM guys using weird textures! That's almost as odd as using the edges of books as lights. That's actually supposed to be a fabric thing wrapped around a set of pipes...no idea why it's being used like that.
3)The rest of the buildings are just incomplete. Plus they're transparant, and this release doesn't have any of the masked textures (it was causing problems).
4)That's just a concrete texture the mapper used.

So i've noticed some things:

4. This is absolutely trivial but i've noticed one too many 'the' :) i could be wrong of course and i dont remember what the original looked like.

I'll think about removing the text. It works in most places, the mapper obviously flipped the texture by accident.

A Noob, i guess
1. Hard for me to fix, that's just a problem that doesn't show up with the original low-res textures. Bad texture alignments by the mapper.
2.They're meant to be there, they were there on the original. I figure they're meant to be old poster marks.
3.Those aren't my textures, those are original (you can tell by the screws)
4.Will be fixed.

That's definitely just sloppy texture alignment on part of the level designer, not New Vision's fault :)
