Did I waste $2k buying clearance 6 in WC?
There's nothing there but the schematic for corona something :\ im on WC side, is this a waste of money red herring :\
Re: Did I waste $2k buying clearance 6 in WC?
I'm not sure as i'm only on my second full WC run. Have you checked out floor 2 yet?
Growing old is inevitable.......Growing up is optional
Re: Did I waste $2k buying clearance 6 in WC?
1: Lot's of money in TNM
2: level 6 gives you access to everything except for the secret basement elevator (once you're in the basement the clearance doors will open for you though... at list the Prison area doors will.) and being able to access all the info on DD.

Before you visit the basement be sure to talk to Black Ice and have him turn off the cameras for you.

How does one do that? Cus I never managed.JC_Helios wrote:Before you visit the basement be sure to talk to Black Ice and have him turn off the cameras for you.

Walk up the stairs, and use the 4 little elevators to press a button (all in the AI labs obviously).
Then Black ICE initialises (well, unless you terminate him. Oddly enough he's still there after termination though, you just can no longer talk to him instead), and walking up to him lets you talk to him.
And yeah;
6 allows you to enter the Corona Labs, shut down all camera's and enter the "non-existant basement" prison (needs 5, but you cannot get that). Obviously nothing that cannot be done with multitools (or Digital Ronin's Katana) though.
Even if someone said it gave all info on DD from Black ICE that's not true. But it is noteworthy that you might want to check back with Black regularly when playing WC, since he get some additional dialogue for each mission (for example the NSC or DXO, and DXI).
But since (for some weird reason) upgrading from a bought level (say, 2, 3, 4) to 6 costs exactly the same as going from 1B to 6 immediately, I suggest you purchase it immediately instead of getting some lowlier function earlier (why anyone would beats me. Unless of course you didn't knew, and got screwed. Thank god for savegames though ).

Can somebody tell me how I can get a custom avatar?
Oh wait, I already got one...

Because with Deus Ex's slightly clunky conversation system, it'd be a fucking hilarious amount of work to lower the prices if you upgrade incrementally, and this time I just couldn't be arsed.Hassat Hunter wrote:But since (for some weird reason) upgrading from a bought level (say, 2, 3, 4) to 6 costs exactly the same as going from 1B to 6 immediately

Re: Did I waste $2k buying clearance 6 in WC?
It's been a while since I used ConEdit, but wouldn't it look like this?
Check for 4. If not present go to X
Offer 6 (go to B), or quit (proceed to A)
X Check for 3. If not present go to Y
Offer 6 (go to C) and 4 (Go to G) or quit (proceed to A)
Y Check for 2. If not present go to Z
Offer 6 (Go to D), 4 (Go to H) and 3 (Go to K) or quit (proceed to A)
Z Offer 6 (Go to E), 4 (Go to I), 3 (Go to L), 2 (Go to N), quit (A)
B [Reduce credits 4-6]
Go to F
C [Reduce credits 3-6]
Go to F
D [Reduce credits 2-6]
Go to F
E [Reduce credits 1-6]
F Add 6.
Go to A
G [Reduce credits 3-4]
Go to J
H [Reduce credits 2-4]
Go to J
I [Reduce credits 1-4]
J Add 4.
Go to A
K [Reduce credits 2-3]
Go to M
L [Reduce credits 1-3]
M Add 3.
Go to A
N [Reduce credits 1-2]
Add 2
A Quit Conversation
Actually... that DOES look cluncky and a lot of work 0_0.

It makes sense.. It takes more risk every time he increases it, and it does look more suspicious if someone advances very quickly numerically, than if they just got a huge boost.Jonas wrote:Because with Deus Ex's slightly clunky conversation system, it'd be a fucking hilarious amount of work to lower the prices if you upgrade incrementally, and this time I just couldn't be arsed.Hassat Hunter wrote:But since (for some weird reason) upgrading from a bought level (say, 2, 3, 4) to 6 costs exactly the same as going from 1B to 6 immediately

Re: Did I waste $2k buying clearance 6 in WC?
Not really. I think getting a quick promotion (especially doing the stuff Trestkon does for Scara in the WC MQ) is a lot less suspicious than going from lowly 1B employee to 6 Enter whatever you want-agent.

I'm not entirely sure how to read your pseudo-game logic, but eh... something like that.Hassat Hunter wrote:It's been a while since I used ConEdit, but wouldn't it look like this?
Mind, it wouldn't be nearly as complicated as eg. the Kunio conversation, but one of those are enough, frankly. Also remember this would require a lot more voice acting.
