Breakout Maddness!
I've been trying to beat the Breakout mini-game present on some PCs and it's been driving me!
After spending more time then I'd like to admit on Level 15. (appropriately named "TNM's a Bitch" XD)
I finally dug into the source code and found out there are 17 levels in total.
I wanted to uh "preview" the last level but the password "MORELIKEACLUSTERF15_" doesn't seem to work in-game. Oh well.
Has anybody else tried to beat this minigame yet? and how far have you gotten?
EDIT: Damn you NVShacker for coding this diabolical game!

I think 15_ is a code for a non-alphanumerical input, but I don't remember exactly. Try an asterisk.Jcelios wrote:I wanted to uh "preview" the last level but the password "MORELIKEACLUSTERF15_" doesn't seem to work in-game. Oh well.
I totally have beaten it. I really wanted there to be a small skillpoint award for beating the final level, but we never had time to implement it, so you'll have to imagine it if you manage thatHas anybody else tried to beat this minigame yet? and how far have you gotten?
Hey! Damn me too please, I designed most of the levels!EDIT: Damn you NVShacker for coding this diabolical game!

Oh ok fine congratulations.
I've been using the keyboard the whole time. Maybe thats part of the problem. I've heard some people say they've controlled it with the mouse.
You can get a hex' n. I hear they're much more potent.Hey! Damn me too please, I designed most of the levels!
Asterix didn't work. Hmm.

Re: Breakout Maddness!
I've only got to level 4 or something; Tetris is more my forte.
On the subject of mini-games, I finally unlocked Radish Adventure yesterday, after having to look up the location of the 15th egg (in DXE). It is very difficult (albeit absolutely genius!). It doesn't help that you can't see where you're going, and from time to time Trestkon gets stuck so he dies or is unable to jump on anything, but I'm determined to beat it.

Re: Breakout Maddness!
Yeah, difficulty through bad camera placement is maybe not the most rewarding type of challenge, but I'd be lying if I said we spent a lot of time designing and testing the Radish Adventure

Re: Breakout Maddness!
So I beat Radish Adventure after countless attempts!
Or so I thought, as Trestkon entered another level, this one even more fiendish than the previous one.
How many are there? And is it not possible to save?

Re: Breakout Maddness!
There are just the two of them. There was meant to be three, but we didn't have time to finish the last one. And no, you can't save, since it would fuck up the camera placement. But IIRC, if you die in the second level, you start at the beginning of that, rather than all the way back at the first one.

Re: Breakout Maddness!
Woohoo I did it! Now to reap the rewards.
Re: Breakout Maddness!
Actually, I think quicksave works, I seem to recall using it, but I may be wrong.
I didn't think it was so hard, you have 100% control even in the air.

Re: Breakout Maddness!
You could save in older versions, but as Jonas said, it would wreck the camera when loading, and you had to restart anyway.
Now sure how far I got with breakout. 10 or so I think...

Can somebody tell me how I can get a custom avatar?
Oh wait, I already got one...

Re: Breakout Maddness!
Heh I just spent half an hour playing Breakout on Alpha's computer (username AO, password Chernobyl), but I couldn't get past TNM's a Bitch either
And to think I even built that level myself. What the fuck was I thinking, eh? I know I've beaten it, it just took ages, and I almost did this time too. At least it's not as much of a pain in the arse as Hell Buckets, eh!?
There's actually an in-game level editor for Breakout in TNM, but it can't create playable levels directly, it can only export the levels to a log file that can then be built into the code and compiled... so it didn't make sense to make it accessible to the players. But those of you who understand how to use the SDK, feel free to screw around with it if you want to make your own levels - it's lots of fun!
