Where to place the freaking spybox?

Where to place the freaking spybox?
On the WC 2. floor, there's a data storage room. According to the map there shound be a server room to the left of it. There is a room, but no server.
I've also been in The Guy's computer room (Black Ice) where I uploaded a virus. I've been pretty much everywhere, found the UC and uploaded a bunch of schematics, constructe a Quad launcher, found the EMP pistol, etc.
But. Where. Is. This. Freaking. SERVER?

It's the big server looking thing on the second floor, door to the left with 100% lock and a camera inside. Right when you unlock it it's directly across from you.
Re: Where to place the freaking spybox?
If you're referring to this
*strike*then I don't seem to be able to use or attach or throw on top the box anywhere.*\strike*
edit: Nevermind, it attaches itself without action when you come very close.
But I have to say, the quest text and map legend are not very precise, so it took me a while to even find this "server". It doesn't have a caption, so that would be my suggestion. Give the door and the server a caption that helps relate it to the quest, please!
Also, a strike-tag in the BBCode would be helpful.

Re: Where to place the freaking spybox?
here.
I would have put more on but I got the glitch I mentioned Re: Where to place the freaking spybox?
please read my editing.
Re: Where to place the freaking spybox?
Is it possible to add frob/highlight to the two (or more) server boxes so that you can have a good idea of what you're looking for.
Or if you want more work, set a PM to activate when you are in the vicinity, or a goal to update.
Another solution might be to supply Trest an image of the server itself during the mission briefing...

Well those look like standard server racks. I mean it's a cyberpunk game/mod - Do you really think Trestkon would need to be told what a server looks like?

Re: Where to place the freaking spybox?
Lack of feedback can turn a good quest into an annoying one when the player gets frustrated.
So I find MrBlack's suggestions helpful and valid.

Me too. Not 100% sure what we can do about it, but we'll look into it.Mep_histo wrote:Lack of feedback can turn a good quest into an annoying one when the player gets frustrated.

Re: Where to place the freaking spybox?
A big ol' sign on the side of the 'case' saying SERVER?
In 180 pt Impact Bold?
And on fire?

Re: Where to place the freaking spybox?
No. No one wants consolish giant blinking directional arrows.
But how about a simple sign Servers at the door, like on the map?
As you can see, the server room (Servers on the map) has a sign Data Storage. The storage room (Storage on the map) lacks a door sign.
IMHO this can be unnessessarily confusing (a bit like the different names for the same district).

Re: Where to place the freaking spybox?
Data is stored on servers. Hence a Data Storage room would have servers.
A storage room is a place were you keep hardware (mops, crates, buckets etc) locked up. It fits the description of the room on the right.
It's not confusing at all.
Additionally, "Data Storage" sounds more realistic than "Servers" as a name for the room. Restrooms have toilets, but the sign outside wouldn't read "Toilets".

Re: Where to place the freaking spybox?
Plus..well, not to be harsh, but if you look at that map, it's clearly indicating that very room.
S'what maps DO, after all.

Re: Where to place the freaking spybox?
You guys are barking up the wrong tree.
The man found the right room. He just had no idea those things were the servers because they're made of CSG and there's nothing to indicate they're the servers until you get the spyware device out and come close enough. It's a fair enough criticism, but there's just no way to make them highlight right now because they're not objects, they're geometry, and we're not tinkering anymore with the way the spyware device works.
We've already spent way too much time on that thing for a feature which is only used twice in the whole game

Re: Where to place the freaking spybox?
Is it possible to add an image to the datavault though?
BTW guys I'm not doing this for myself, it only took 2 minutes personally to figure it out.
It's just that there's a difference between not holding the players hand, to assuming the player knows what a server box looks like.
Plus, when in Deus Ex do you do anything with an un-frobable wall, where its a critical objective (except blowing up a crack in the wall)
