How did you beat the ATC mission?

How did you beat the ATC mission?
We can all agree that the ATC mission is one of the best in the game, simply due to the fact that there are so many ways it can be tackled. I ask you, what is your favorite way that you beat that mission? Mine was using the hovercraft method to breach the tower and then rain White Phosphorous death on the ground units from the third floor. What's yours?
Re: How did you beat the ATC mission?
I never found the Hovercraft, but I took the key card, got in and then vortexed the lot of the guards.

I just did the straight forward method of walking in and shooting everyone. Then before leaving for ABI I decided to explore the map.

Mirror's edge route, keycard, back vent shaft (l love how the guards don't think it's unusual that a keycarded employee feels the need to shoot out a panel and climb up the vent behind it) then back to the slums via the same route. I was TIRED of killing everyone by that point.

Yep, this was by far my favourite mission of the game; I think maybe even better than DX's levels.
I think I somehow managed to go through all the routes, but to actually get into the building I used the hovercraft, which was probably one of the coolest scenes of the game.

First time, I used the ID card to con the guards into letting me in, then I went back to the slums silently through the sewers. On my next WorldCorp run I'll try to sneak in undetected without using the card...

Glad you think so because it probably took about a month in total to set upAgentSmithereens wrote:I think I somehow managed to go through all the routes, but to actually get into the building I used the hovercraft, which was probably one of the coolest scenes of the game.
The ATC love in this thread warms my heart. It's the final mission we designed (when I decided the WC mission on day 2 was too short compared to the PDX mission), and by then we had a really good grasp of DX's gameplay. It also helped that a lot of it was in Phasmatis's hands, because he is a truly excellent level designer.
And to answer the topic: Every possible way, over and over again, until I was completely sick of it.
I assume you've all found Books & Stuff?

Love ATC too!
My first time I just explored a little, rendered my card useless by the guards, jumped with the car, and ran havok. Pretty much what I usually do . Floating Milbot (when he approaches the stairs to the ATC) ftw.

Only this part puzzles me a bit. It leads up to level 2, with the employee that recognises you and ruins your disguise! Then frontal + elevator is alot safer. How did you do that DDL?back vent shaft
Can somebody tell me how I can get a custom avatar?
Oh wait, I already got one...

The same method I use to defeat Scara's security guards before I eventually save SD: Stacking crates to build temporary walls in order to hide the fact that I was knocking out the guards one by one until only the bot was left, which I disabled with an EMP grenade. It took quite a while, and it would have been better to have just head back to the slums I guess.

Re: How did you beat the ATC mission?
Is there any other game like DX/TNM that lets you solve problems in so many different ways? That's what I find addicting about the game: using my ingenuity to get through a hoard of guards armed with only a riot prod, sniper rifle, screw driver, and fire extinguisher is quite addicting.

I like to scramble the milbot and watch it kill everything.

Yes I have. It's what led me to discover DX.
