Magical vent?

So I was doing the second mission for PDX -the one where you mess with the WC servers- and I decided to take the opportunity to thoroughly explore the building. I found a hatch partially hidden by darkness and we all know what that means: a vent! We also know vents are the place to be in Deus Ex, so I went in, got my 50 SP exploration bonus and started exploring the tunnels when I got unexpectedly (and inexplicably?) warped outside, just by the entrance to the garage.
I get the feeling this wasn't supposed to happen. Or maybe the guys at WC developed some new anti vent-sneaking system that warps people outside.
