how do i scale a brush skinny?

Post by Neveos »

so if I use the scaling tool, i cant but scale any block down to about the size of a log. In needing to make a table top, or wall mounted tv, how do i scale down past this barrier?

Right-click on the geometric tool you're using and just type the unit size you want into the properties.

That's the best way to do it anyway - if you use the scale tool, you often end up with some pretty damn weird dimensions. Better to remain in full control over the dimensions of your geometry. Whatever you do, always stay on the grid ;)

Oh I agree with staying on the grid, and you're right that scaling doesn't snap, but that must be pretty tedious though, you'd have to think ahead all the time, and in inches.

Hmmm, figured it out, actually. It scales based on a certain percentage of the original dimensions of the builder brush, and that value has a limit. So if you want to scale smaller with the tool, you have to start out with a smaller builder brush. Mine was the original 256x256x256, but if you make the brush 3x3x3 it will scale really small.
