Crash while returning from Old Server Complex

After nearly a year i found the time to continue my playthrough of this great mod (fresh install). Meanwhile I've upgraded my system from XP to W7, but that didn't seem to cause any problems initially.

My latest savegame started in the first Old Server Complex level, right after leaving the elevator that brought me down.
Now I've made my way through all of the Old Server Complex levels without any problems and got back to the elevator to ride it back up.

But at the transition of the level (back to New Server Complex, i think), the game crashes everytime, with a "General protection fault!"-error.

I've experimented a bit with different options, but none solves the problem.
Cheating to another level also is no help, since obviously, my current progress (goals, inventory, skills, etc.) isn't saved.
Furthermore, everything related to the New Server Complex seems buggy. Cheating to there results in crash, as does loading of old savegames in the NSC.

Please advise!

Did you patch the game in the mean time? The last patch tends to break savegames because we finally fixed the patrol crash bug.

Hmm ...

This time I applied the 1.04 patch right on.

Last year (from where the savegames come) ... dunno really. Though I tend to always use the newest patch.
But 1.04 hasn't been out back then, right ?

So, is there any way to circumvent this?
Like cheating to another level, but with progress remaining?

Reinstall and only apply 1.03 should work.

Or you could try the following:
Back up your most recent save(the one in the older server complex that didn't crash the game). Open the save folder of that save and delete the file called 21_Newservercomplex(or something similiar I can't recall the exact name). If I'm right(and I'm rather guessing), this will force the game to reinitialize that map, which would then mean that the NPC's would use the improved pathing, and not crashing the game. Of course it will reset everything on that map, so all the items will respawn.

My observations so far:

I followed Jaedars suggestion and deleted the map file from the savegame folder. (assuming the file is "20_NSC", which it seems to be)

Now, when I cheated to the NSC map, everything seemed like excepted (map flags seemed reset).

BUT when I went the usual way via the elevator, it didn't crash, but at the instant when I entered the map, I falled to my death
Looks like the elevator on wich I'm supposed to be standing wasn't there.

So I'll try reinstalling and applying 1.03.

Try using ghost or fly cheat so you don't die.

Or reinstall. Whatever works.

Yeah, 1.02.

That seems to work. Although I would like to play with the newest patch.

The "fly"-cheating I already tried, but doesn't work, since there is not enough time to type it in
And if I activate it at the end of the Old Server level, it seems to be re-deactivated at the start of NSC.

Try using the pause button, which does exactly what it promises .

Talk about the easiest solutions ... that really evaded my mind

But now, I've continued to play with 1.02.

Question is, since only the NSC level seemed affected, is it safe to apply 1.04 now for the rest of the game?

Well, it affects all previous maps with patrolling people (which pretty much is every one). You should apply it before going to Deus Ex Incarnate, since then all past levels get erased and it shouldn't be an issue anymore (although seeing there are patrolling people in the slums maybe you should try after going there instead).

I did apply 1.04 in DXI and ... works perfect!

Now I'm deep into Aunt Betty's and no probs so far.

You should have a trouble free run from here on in if you got through the opening bit of ABI without a crash....... knock wood.
