Ermm.. Firstly was your version of Deus Ex up-to-date?
Actually, thinking about it I think the TNM installer does it for you if it isn't.
Did you run Deus Ex before installing TNM?
I don't think this is a hardware problem.
It could be a corrupt installation or something similar.
I'll let someone more enlightened than myself carry on from here

Everything should be up-to-date. It's been a couple months since I played, but it worked fine when I did. Well, there was an annoying bug with shifter, but besides that.

If you still have Shifter installed that may be the problem, TNM and Shifter aren't fully compatible yet.
