Another "Deus Ex loads when i try to run TNM" problem

I installed TNM for the first time (making sure i ran Deus Ex first), and opened it up. It worked, only it was lagging big time everytime i opened the menu on the title screens. I attempted to fix this by changing my renderer in the TNM.ini file. This didn't do anything so i decided to uninstall/re-install TNM. After doing this everytime i try to load TNM, Deus Ex loads instead. I re-installed TNM several times and re-installed Deus ex as well. Still having the same issue. Tried changing my renderer in the TNM.ini file again but didn't seem to help. I'm using the shortcut file, and the path in the shortcut matches with the appropriate applications etc. in my Deus ex/TNM folders.

Any advice?

How are you launching the game? You have to run it by using the shortcut the installer creates on your desktop. If you don't have it anymore, it should say something like this:

C:\DeusEx\System\TNM.exe INI="C:\DeusEx\TNM\System\TNM.ini" USERINI="C:\DeusEx\TNM\System\TNMUser.ini" log=TNM.log

yup i am using the shortcut created by the installer. the target line in the shortcut matches what you posted.

ooookay... I'm stumped.

My best bet would be to uninstall both games at the same time, make sure nothing is left in the DeusEx folder, then reinstall everything. There's probably an easier solution, but I can't tell what your problem actually is, so solving it more precisely is difficult.

would the fact that i updated deus ex to the latest version have anything to do with it?

this is my TNM's shortcut target line btw (incase you notice anything amiss):

Did you not have the latest version (1112fm) *before* you installed TNM?

You could try manually loading the TNM maps.

so i uninstalled both deus ex and TNM again. deleted the previous folder and installed deus ex into a different directory. TNM is now working perfectly, i have no idea what the problem was. thanks for your help guys, i'm already digging this big time.
