ABI woes.

Post by green-greasy-greasel »

Right, first off, this is one of the best mods i have ever played. awesome in every regard right up until now. im outside ABI, and every time i try and continue with my save, it freezes with no error screen and i have to ctrl-alt-dlt the hell out of it. i have all the necessary fixes installed: (latest patch, that DLL thing). sorry if this problem has been posted elsewhere, but i really need to jump back into trestkons body ( :? ) and continue this epic tale. thanks in advance.

if you wait a while it will crash, and produce an error message. Atleast that's what I've been told

You should NOT use the DLL with the latest patch, since it includes a newer version. You do run 1.0.2, right?

If so, open the console (~) and type "killall TNMDoberman" and "killall spiderbot2"
Can somebody tell me how I can get a custom avatar?

doh, yeah sorry i meant to add the word 'with' as in "with that dll thing". yeah its the latest patch version. i take it i have to open the console to type that in while using that ABI save eh? if so, i have around 1 1/2 seconds to do it before it freezes....

That's what the pause button is for.

Well I guess it wasn't originally, but it is now!

Can I ask you though: Had you already gone to ABI when you applied the patch? I mean did you load a savegame in the ABI exterior after applying the 1.0.2 patch?

Fuck, I guess that means we didn't fix the ABI freezes properly. I guess those dogs are out in the next patch then :(

aww, I liked them dogs, they added some variety to the scene.

I mean the standard gun wielding henchmen get boring after a while. Then again, freezes suck.

Are the dogs patrolling?

I invented a state called 'walkies' that is basically 'wandering, only with your homebase as some dude' that kinda looks ok, if you want it.

Uh I dunno. Right now they're using a formation system one of the guys coded up ages ago. It makes them follow their leader and maintain the pattern they started out in.

It's pretty advanced, but I think this is the only place in the mod where it's used (may also be used for the demolition team if you kill Kevo in the WC storyline, but I don't remember if I ended up just making them walk in single file). I'm not sure if the formation state is causing the dogs to get into infinite loops - it could be the path nodes just need to be lower to the ground.
