Cannot upgrade to 1.0.2

I have installed the original Deus Ex into c:\DeusEx (I have nothing altered, all left at default), installed the nameless mod, and the update. Everything seems to be ok, but if I click on The Nameless Mod.lnk it says version 1.0.0 and if I directly start c:\DeusEx\System\TNM.exe the original Deus Ex starts.
I know it`s difficult to make a diagnosis, but it would help if you updated the download files to 1.0.2 and a patch would not be necessary anymore.

I think they planned to do that once the final patch is released. 1.0.2 isn't, 1.0.3 is in the works.

Did you run DX once before installing TNM?

Yes, updated DeusEx to version 1.112f, played the tutorial, and saved on the first level. Deus Ex ran out of the box (finished it 8 years ago on the same! computer), but I had many problems to run the nameless mod (intro black and white squares, then no response), but after many tweaks it now runs. But it won't upgrade.

What exactly did you alter?

Also; did you install the patch into C:/Deus Ex (correct) or C:/Deus Ex/TNM (incorrect)?

Success at last
I installed the game again:

Installed DX
Patch to 112fm
Played tutorial, saved at first level
Installed TNM from iso, mounted with daemon tools
Patch to 102 (without running version 100, which I did before)
start TNM, white blocks instead logos
edit C:\DeusEx\TNM\System\TNM.ini:
GameRenderDevice=OpenGLDrv.OpenGLRenderDevice to
GameRenderDevice=D3DDrv.D3DRenderDevice
run C:\DeusEx\TNM\The Nameless Mod.lnk

Now Version 1.02
