Can't Use DX10 renderer

Can't Use DX10 renderer

Got this weird problem where I can't run Deus Ex with DX10 renderer without the game crashing when I look at a mirror or certain srfaces. I'm trying to play DXN with Kenties and DX10 but when I run the intro sequence the game just goes black and I have to force-shutdown. Not sure why this is happening.

(Posted this in another thread but didn't really make sense there.)

maybe it's your computer? Have you tried running your game on another comp?

I did get DX10 to work on my old comp but that one died. There's something wrong in some hardware setting or something but I just can't figure out what it is. I'm running Windows 7 on a Dell Lattitude E5510 all default hardware.

Ok, what's actually happening is that the screen turns black and the game freezes. I then have to alt-tab out of Deus Ex to close the program. Here is the log file after the crash:

Doesn't seem like anything is breaking but the game is just freezing all of a sudden, like a few seconds into the DXN intro sequence.

I've had similar stuff and it came from modding about... Have you tried a clean install (just put it in a different dir or something... I run 2 for this purpose, Steam and GOTY on C:\ and D:\ each :smile: ). If it works on a clean install, I'd look in to the files you're editing...
