Custom HUD

Is there anyway to make a custom HUD without messing with the engine? Looks like a ton of code in there from what I can glimmer.

What would be the easiest way to just draw a graphic to the screen?

Umm, I'm not sure.. but if you're talking about Singleplayer.. I guess creating a custom player class and calling in some functions would do the trick, and then adding your player on the configure file... however I'm not sure if that will require anything else.. since I'm no Singleplayer expert. D:

Otherwise there's also methods involving 'mutators'.. however you'll have to summon these 'mutators' yourself.
