I just don't see the cons in not creating a framework for future mods. A framework that includes all obvious fixes (that this patch already corrects) and also features like new triggers, extensions to already existing code and other features that the community have developed during the years.

I think that this would help the developer community, especially those developers that are not that code-savy; since the code/features are already there. All developer would have to do is to place the new item in the map, or make slight alterations in mission script/other code to use these features. Can't really see how that would be bad for anybody. Stuff that was made for one mod can now easily be used in another, and that can lead to inspiration amongst modders.

Instead of having the same piece of code in TNM, Shifter and in Revision it would be far more efficient to add this code to this so called framework once and for all, so all mods can access it.

To a degree, I think you're right. On the other hand, implementing anything that any mod uses (or could possibly use) can lead to unnecessary bloat. I'm certainly not opposed to including things that are used by multiple mods already, or seem fairly general-use, provided it doesn't mess with the base game in a visible and unnecessary way.

Of course, I say this, yet I'm the guy who wrote two new classes into DeusEx.u just to implement a stupid cheat code. Whoops.

Alright, I see your point. Then we should have a rule of thumb that is, is two mods require the feature, it will be included, or if it's a general thing like a new type of trigger that is of a wider use to developers. Of course it has to be transparent and not disrupt the regular game or mods that do not use the feature.

In that case I have another suggestion, the PhysicsTrigger included in Revision. It was originally found in the DXE forums, before it went down. It simply changes the Physics setting on one ore more objects. Can be used to make stuff drop from the ceiling and stuff.

Have not checked this whole thread yet to see if it was mentioned, but I had a bug on a new playthrough on vanilla. I was playing fine through Liberty Island and then got the bug where you start walking instead of running. I always have the "always run" enabled and at first I thought it was just the players speed was slowed, but then noticed if I held the run key, I would run, so the bug reversed the walk/run but on the menu settings the "always run" was still enabled and when I went into UNATCOHQ map, I was running fine, then went back to Liberty Island, the walk bug was back. Not sure when it happened though.

I have walk/run toggle set to the Capslock key. Try pressing that if it happens again.

It sounds really daft but I've done a similar thing in the past.

I am trying to remember which map this was happening, I think it was on one of the NYC missions...Its not a bug as such, but I remember on the map there are two entrances to the map, and in this particular mission, your not so much meant to leave the map via one route that you could in an older mission, but if you do and try to return the way you came, you end up at the other teleporter, rather than the one on the map where you exited it...

Might be the Ton Hotel on the NYC mission either the one before the last or the one where you have to find Dowd before scuttling the super freighter. You exit via the front door and go back through it and end up outside the window on the steps on the side of the building rather than inside the front door...I'll run a test and see which one it is and report back.

Edit: Not sure, can't find it at present, maybe it wasn't the 'Ton maps. If I find it, I'll report back. if anyone has had this issue before, be good to know what it was. Might have been a one time bug.

Remember what it was...I think this happens because your not supposed to go back and it wasn't thought of (either you surrender or die so fast you can't really get back and are not meant to turn around and go back into the subway), on the 04_NYC_BatteryPark map, if you go back and use the subway to go back to the 04_NYC_Streets map, when it loads, your back on top of the 'Ton hotel again, not in the subway area.

Haha! I'll look into that. Should be an easy fix.

Came across a pretty bad BSP hole in HK Canal and for some reason, first time I have seen it. When I found it, I couldn't swim past, just the part to the left side of it and was able to find a spot to walk on, even though you should only be swimming here.

Here is the area which is the canal area near the barge and the bot is with the woman and mutt on it (I am walking on the result of the BSP hole, it makes a small area left of the hole act as if there is a solid brush there to walk on):

Here is the BSP hole, in the wall:

I've seen that one before, yeah. Wouldn't fixing that require rebuilding the map and distributing the new version of it, though? I honestly have no idea what I'm doing, at least, when it comes to maps.

Came across an odd glitch... Was at the point where you talk to Savage where Bob Page comes on the communicator to tell you about Tiffany, after you upload Daedalus to Milnet. I went to talk to Gary Savage, when I was beside him, everytime Gary "breathed" when his breath animation played, the screen moved up and down (the same way it does when you stand beside a moving Military Bot) and I was unable to talk to him but this only happened when I was near Gary, further away, everything was normal.

Anyone else experience something like this or why this happened?

Edit: Update, I had to attack Gary to get him to move, and then he ran up the stairs beside the communicator. He came back, walked towards the personal computer, rather than the communicator, then started taking two steps, turning around and walking two steps and turning around and taking two steps and kept going like that in a loop, with the bouncing screen I mentioned.

Changing the BSP on the fly might work. At least you can access BSP Informations, but i never tried to alter them.

I'm almost entirely ignorant of everything BSP-related, so if you can find a way to do that, let me know and I'll give you a hundred internet fun-bucks. Wait, I think those are just Bitcoins. At any rate, let me know if you do.
