UC Mod Loader?

A refuge for those migrating from the fallen DXEditing.com and a place for general discussion relating to Deus Ex editing (coding, mapping, etc).

UC Mod Loader?

Post by Neveos »

So according to this very helpful tutorial site: http://www.planetdeusex.com/tack/TeamUCModLoader.html

I should use a "Team UC Mod Loader" to distribute the game. I really don't like the sound of it, and I don't think TNM used it, but if you guys recommend it, I'll use it. The reason I'm bringing this up is due to the fact that I want to go ahead and change my player model (as I've done before) as I make my mod, but there is a way to do that with this UC mod loader and there is a way not to.

Basically, I'm wondering what you guys' current opinion is of this Mod Loader, and whether I should use it or not.

I've uploaded it too Moddb, if that makes you feel a little happier downloading it from there, I don't know.
Moddb is pretty much the place to be for Mods these days so I decided to start uploading little mods for Deus Ex that only ran on Mod Loader, up to Moddb.
I'm guessing your making your own Mod or something?

I know a bit about the Mod Loader so let me know if you need anymore info.
The real trouble with reality is that there's no background music.

Well it ends up requiring users to do a manual install, even to to those i distribute the game to, and it just seems off putting to go ahead and subscribe to something that I can work away from in the end. TNM, for instance, is an example of a great install and play, and I'm pretty sure it didn't use the UC ML. I guess I answered my own question with this, lol, sorry.

No TNM used an External Installer.
Manual installer is implied but the way i've done it doesn't require that.
I've made it so, all you need to do is extract the files too; C:\DeusEx.
For users that is, there is a few modifications to get your Mod workingwith the UC ModLoader in the first place but that is easy if you know what your doing.
If you are making a mod, or a Demo or something; Let me know and I can fix you mod up to work with UC Modloader and upload it too the Fan Mission Moddb page. Credit given to you of course.
The real trouble with reality is that there's no background music.
