"Vertex Editing Mode"

A refuge for those migrating from the fallen DXEditing.com and a place for general discussion relating to Deus Ex editing (coding, mapping, etc).

"Vertex Editing Mode"

Post by Neveos »

-edit- fixed, so apparently you shouldn't push the "vertex editing button", but instead select the camera button, click the vertex, and hold "alt". Glitchy as hell so save before attempting anything.

So I got the Ued2, and I want to use the vertex editor, but I can't figure out how to use it. I select the button, and the selected brush's vertex's light up grey. But if I hold down control, on any of the windows, I cannot seem to be able to slide them or move them or anything. So how do I use it?

Let me add: perhaps the second most useful feature to this tool is that you can now scale your builder brush. I.e., if you scale your builder brush, and you accidentally didn't scale it right, or the program didn't fit the grid right, and you attempt to re-scale that brush, it will re-set to the default builder-size. But, by vertex editing, you do not risk this.

You're recreating Invisible War in Deus Ex? :D
Btw, I have no idea what you said before but I'm glad you found the solution and hope things go well for you.
The real trouble with reality is that there's no background music.

Yeah it's going to be drastically different, but retaining the over-all storyline. I'm almost done forming the raw geometry of the first city, and now I'm starting to flesh it out with movers and npcs, running into problems, though. My brother is an imitationist, and I'm confident he can replicate the original voice actors of characters like Tong Paul and Jock. I don't want to give away too much of the story. I'm spending all of my free time doing this.
