Random Time problems
Random Time problems
My game is going through strange temporal fluctuations. I was like, "is capslock on, why am I walking slow?". Well then I jumped and fired some shots, and I was like, "Whoa I'm in slow mo." And then I played it again, it was normal. And then I played it again, and everything was too fast?! Has anyone ever seen this? All I know is that I noticed it after placing the precipitation zone, but this could have been always happening without me noticing it.

Re: Random Time problems
Ah this. Either this is a multiple processor problem, or you have slomo cheat on thing.. just enable cheats and type slomo 1.
If that doesn't work please respond back.. then it would be the multiple processor problem.

Re: Random Time problems
Yeah I'll do that if it happens again, but I didn't even know the cheat existed. Dunno why it would be slow, and then it would be too fast.

Re: Random Time problems
Not playing it on a laptop?
Actually hell, maybe even just "a modern computer" (cool and quiet?)
A lot of modern comps (and especially laptops) alter their clockspeed according to demand:this saves on heat and more importantly, battery life. And after all, there's no point running at full tilt when all you're running is windows.
However, while modern games are generally capable of handling this, DX actually sets the default gamespeed at install to whatever it detects as your current clockspeed, so if that changes, then DX just goes HERP DERP MAKE FASTER/SLOWER, on the fly. Coz it's special.

Re: Random Time problems
rofl. Yeah its a laptop. It's possible the comp started overheating or something, and changed its clock speed.
