Pet Spider Bot

Post by Prophet »

How do I make a pet spider bot?
I want to make one that I can spawn in-game that follows me around and attacks people who attack me.

I also want a custom texture for it.
Please give me links to something I can use to make textures.
Something free please, I am saving up for a new bow. Archery competition coming next month...

Try subclassing a spiderbot setting up the AI to be allied to you permanently. Change multiskins to change the skinning and set the orders property to Following.

Ok, that is quite helpful, but when I say a custom texture, I mean like a texture that I make...

Yeah, you should be able to specify what texture to set on the bot, even if it's in your own texture package.

Ok, you are clearly getting lost there...

I haven't made the texture yet, but I want to make it. The only problem is that I need a link to a program that I could use to make it...

Do you understand now?

Anything that can edit PCX files. I think most professional or quasi-professional image editing software should be able to do this. Check out GIMP or something.

The stealthy way: First, go to the left and find an elevator. You will need to find a code (go to the room with a pinball and a vending machine) or hack the keypad. The elevator will take you to the lab where you will find a key. Go back to the beginning of the level, then go down the stairs near two aquariums and find a door between two glass walls. Use your nanokey on an electronic lock to open the door. Finally, use a computer at the opposite side of the room. Watch out for lasers! You can find a login and password in a datacube in the conference room near the elevator.

That isn't really helpful, since I already tried that...
The codes between the datacube and the keypad don't match, and the commando assaults me with rockets and miniguns when I hack it...
