Mapping question

A refuge for those migrating from the fallen DXEditing.com and a place for general discussion relating to Deus Ex editing (coding, mapping, etc).

Mapping question

Post by DevAnj »

I know that Deus Ex mapping is more or less dead at this point, but I want to clarify a doubt I have. In the first Area 51 level, you can see two curved passages at the entrance to the bunker. Is it possible to make this using vertex manipulation, and what's the ideal way to do so? I took an image of the brush in question to show what I'm talking about, it does look like they vertex manipulated 4 cylinders and joined them using the intersect operation.

Depends on if you're using UED1 or UED2, because brushes like that can be made in about two-three steps with UED2's 2D shape editor.

Also possible in UED1's shape editor with Loft->Revolve option.
I demand my DXE User ID back. Launcher for DeusEx, Rune, Nerf, Unreal & Botpack. HX on Mod DB. Revision on Steam.
