DXE Updates

Post by tzang »

I'm going to use this thread to update people on the recovery process of DXE and anything new that might occur to DXE itself. I've had a few enquiries on the site itself so to save myself from threats or repetition, I'll post the information here.

DXE Content
I'm currently rebuilding all HTML files, unfortunately, not all content was retrieved (by the automated program Warrick due to its restricted number of attempted to make queries to Internet archives so I will need to go back and manually retrieve them from archives.

CSS file for the site is being written, it shouldn't be anything fancy but will make people feel at home with a DXE layout, colour, logo, squirrels, etc...

DXE Forums
Rebuilding content from forums have yet to start, I will be hosting the forums on a public domain to allow people to help recover content. Hopefully with a generic CSS template from above, it can be easy for people to simply copy and paste forum content and generate a HTML file that can be used straight away.

DXE Contacts
Unfortunately, any e-mails sent to @dxediting.com will bounce. Some of the DXE members can be contacted through here, the rest are idling on irc.starchat.net on #DXEditing channel or most definitely dead. Please ask carone for further information.

If you feel I've missed anything out, please post below and I will add to my list of [TO DO before Trestkon kills me]. Over and out!

Necroposter! :o
Did you check the date of that last post? :P

There haven't been any updates from DXE for quite sometime...
The real trouble with reality is that there's no background music.

I thought it was finalised that DXEditing would just be this forum on here and that the old DXEditing wouldn't return?

Regardless, I just hope that the old tutorials, documentation etc. from DXE can be accessed.
There was a lot of really useful DX modding information that you can't find anywhere else.

erm.....this is and old thread but this might be useful to someone.

I have tutorials from i believed to be the original DXE site by Jered and TraX2000.

These involve the following:

1. Linking Maps
2. Doors & Triggers
3. Elevators
4. Water
5. Ladders
6. Lighting Switches
7. Security Consoles and Cameras
8. Breakable Movers

I printed these off back in 2002 and they would require typing up again or scanning back in but if these are of use to anyone I could do it that their request?

I actually have all those digitally, along with a lot of other ones as well. I should totally re-upload them when I have the time. :)
