Hello lovelies,
I have to create a serious game which in short means that it has to be educational in some way. (for more info see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Serious_game )
I am complete stuck at this i cannot think of a game to create
This is where you can come in on your white horse and save the day!
Does anybody have an idea for a serious game that i can create? just a simple game is more then enough.
Any idea is very welcome how small it might be!
And i guess the winner will have his game created by me
Please dx'ers save me!

Re: Serious games
How large of a game are you making? Is it going to be 2d or 3d? Does it have to teach something praticel (ie: this is how you transplant a kidney) or can it just be leaning fun things about bugs or something random?

Re: Serious games
How long do you have to do this? What skills can you bring to bear?
Re: Serious games
Yeah we need some project parameters. Also any actual topic you might be interested in, as you may find it easier and more fun to research cold war history rather than brain surgery.

The subject doesn't really matter.
However not a very large project since i don't have long to complete it.
Platormish game would probably be best. (Since i have to make it in frigin game maker who makes up that crap)

Re: Serious games
My advice would be just rip off Capitalism Plus. That game is by far the BEST educational game EVER made.

http://www.gog.com/en/gamecard/capitalism_plus - can be bought here very cheaply.

really awesome game- its very hard but ultra rewarding when you pull it off. Plus the game would be hell easy to produce in Game maker as all the graphics are 2D sprites aligned to a tile system.
Captialism 2 Introduced two awesome things, 1. an isometric graphics engine identical to Sim City 3000 and 2. The ability to now start your own game developer though only as a console developer yes it was possible and you could also start your own EB/Gamestop style shop.

Make a gritty and realistic military 3D FPS simulation of Minesweeper.
