I don't even remember that place on the Ps2 version.
Paul, I know you said no phone messages, but South Street's going up in smoke. We'll have to meet at the subway station.

Time to escape from the grasp of UNATCO.
The jail area is identical with PC version.
Going to get my equipment first.
The bot maintenance area is made with different style.
The balcony areas are removed, but there is two whole floors instead.
Image

The medical area is like mirrored, kinda. The doors are on your left, not right.
Also the layout is different, I kinda like this more.
Image

This pit with greasel is little bit different also.
Image

These balconys are added in PS2 version.
Image

Me and Miquel found out these 3 medikits in the middle of the floor? Are these here on PC?
Don't think so, strange. They were on top of eachother.
Image

Killed Anna Navarre with killphrase. Nothing different there.

I just bought myself a copy from eBay, I'm interested in playing Deus Ex a bit differently. Some of these new areas look quite cool and the animations seem like a welcome improvement.

The bridge area on the way to the airfield is the same, by the way.

Had few minutes spare time today so continued my run.
Time for Majestic12 landing bay.
Area that isn't that importnat, but this time I have to say that the PC version is far more superior.
PS2 is lacking many details.
Here is few pics from the main area. It is divided in two parts, not bad.
Image
Image

There is less guards here on PS2, only four I think? I'm sure there was few more on PC.
Also two of those robots of course.
The exit elevator is covered by turret on PS2, not sure if there was one on PC.
Other areas are like on PC, but the roof is totally missing and the guard room is smaller.

Small update this time, but after this we search Hong Kong.
I already stepped in Wan Chai market, and this thing was in the roof. Don't remember those from PC?
Can someone tell me if my memory (again) fails?

Gunfire acoustic sensor?

Thanks!

There are gunfire sensors, but on top of streetlights, not hanging around like that.

Not sure they work either way, never really had consequences shooting at/near it...

Another Fix for Shifter/Patch 2.0? :P
I don't remember them ever doing anything either tbh..
I don't remember any in TNM
The real trouble with reality is that there's no background music.

I think they trigger the alarm when you shoot.

Well what it is supposed to do is described in the game:

ACOUSTIC SOUND SENSOR, DESIGN AND SPECIFICATIONS

The acoustic gunfire sensor has been deployed by a number of organizations throughout the world in those urban areas where it might otherwise be difficult to implement and maintain a pervasive security presence. Utilizing fairly rudimentary DSP algorithms, the sensor will trigger if any sound matching the profile of a gunshot occurs within the sensor's detection radius; field tests in Hong Kong have shown them to be 88% accurate, with an overall 12% decrease in crime within six months. Cheap and easy to install, acoustic gunfire sensors can be fitted to buildings, lamp posts, or any other free standing structure...

-

Actually, that doesn't say what it is supposed to do because it doesn't say what it does when it triggers, but setting off an alarm would be my guess.

Yes, those things trigger the alarm. Nothing special.
Played some parts of the Hong Kong already. It was fun after all these years.
The PS2 version is quite different.
Got myself the Dragon Tooth Sword and visited Tracer Tong for the first time.
The melee weapon damages have been changed in PS2 version, that is nice, after the Dragon Tooth the crowbar is the most powerful. Will post some pics of these later on.
The Wan Chai market is almost similar on PS2.

When you access the VersaLife building from here, you don't actually go into elevator, but in long corridor.

This huge robot is close to the temple, didn't see that on PC. It looks great on PS2, when it walks, it eyes are red. When it is "scanning area" it eyes flash yellow and black. See also the VersaLife tower behind, nice detail.

The canals is quite different, little bit more compact, but still good design.

Found out one glitch, you can access this place with high jump aug.

The Queen's Tower looks nice on PS2.

One view from Maggies apartment.

Unique textures for PS2.

The Buddha entrance is fixed on PS2.

Lucky Moneys second floor has different design.

So, time for VersaLife trips.
Some major changes, but the idea remains the same.
Once I first time encountered the gray in the laboratory, I have to say that they are scarier than on PC. They move like double the speed. Looks funny.

But here we go:

The offices are smaller, but there is more employees working:

Little bit different layout:

Level 2 access has different look also:

The Universal Constructor room is nothing like on PC:

Oh the nostalgia :D.

I got Shadow of the Colossus working damn near perfectly at full screen resolution on my new uber computer. Works like a charm :).

A quick question about the PS2 version; its my understanding that the movies are of a much higher quality than on the PC version. Would it be possible to rip the movies from the PS2 version and use them in the PC version?

VL Level 2 and Lucky Money lvl 2 look pretty much the same to me.

Also, there was a milbot next to the hotel in PC DX, is it still there? They may have moved it to the temple instead (but yeah, looks cool).

As for the gunsensors. Checked the editor, the ones in the market are tied to the alarm. Doesn't mean they work though (still think they don't). The one in the canal is not tied to anything however. Hmm...
And these are the only places I recall them being anyway.
