Prompted by TheUnbeholden, fixed DXO Prologue and DX Revision links. Deleted Dr. Who link (it had gone dead, can't be arsed looking for a new link for a mod that was WIP anyway).

That's a shame. They both looks like interesting projects.

That is a pretty sexy mod, I must say.
The HUD looks awesome. I'm sure UNATCOBorn had a similar HUD, but I think it's one of the guys who worked on UB doing Nihilum.
Also, it looks similar to the old IW HUD.

... Something like that.

Looks very impressive! :)

That's... really quite nice actually. Seems like almost the entire damn room in one of those screenshots is made out of meshes, and the lighting is surprisingly decent considering that. I wonder how that works in practice, what with the Unreal Engine only supporting cylindrical collision hulls for meshes.

Could you cheat it by making the mesh's collision hull really small and using invisible brushes (or similar) to block the player? I remember doing that back when I used the Hammer editor, rather than make collision meshes for models.

Oh I guess you can take New Vision out of the in development bit :) And Kentie's launcher is now pretty much the best way to play Deus Ex now (especially with the configuration settings).

Em why Is New Vision listed as "in Development"... considering its released at a massive 1.5 gb, I think that counts as not being in development even though Dave will update it :D

Yes, actually I thought about that too, I just don't even want to contemplate such an awful hacky solution. But hey if he can stomach it and it works, awesome - not everybody has to be as OCD about brushwork as I am

Will do.

Eh it's all right, but it's still visibly just solid use of the floor lofter and some nice texture work. It doesn't look like a completely different engine to the same extent as The Nowhere does in those screenshots, and it doesn't make me wonder how the fuck he did it. The main thing that gets me about The Nowhere is the sheer amount of detail packed into relatively small areas - I'm a sucker for high detail density.

The railings on the stairwell, in particular. I've often considered just making mesh railings, but then thought about the sheer amount of context-specific meshwork I'd need to UV map and import, even before getting to the ICH/blockall spam, and thought fuck that.

Also of course, I suck terribly at mapping.

Haha, not really..

I just realized.. I think I may have posted early screenshots of the map.. very outdated I think.

So to better judge it perhaps try it out yourself!

(I hope it's not protected, otherwise you'll have to open it through DX not the SDK.. D:)
