The Deus Ex Mod List

Post by Jonas »

This thread is meant as a list of all modifications and fan missions for Deus Ex. Now... I by far do not know them all, so please post your additions and suggestions here. I've been wanting to gather a complete list for a while. Links to everything, and maybe if somebody has a mod that is no longer online lying around, we can toss it up on OTP webspace and host it discretely from here. Any mods added by you guys are edited onto the list in this first post. Here we go:

Total conversions:
Note that the line between a TC and a fan mission is pretty blurry, but this is probably the closest we can get, and I like the distinction.

2027 Project (available in English and Russian)
Burden of 80 Proof
Der Zeit Mann
Deus Ex: Nihilum
Redsun 2020
Summer 101 (unfinished)
The Cassandra Project
The Nameless Mod
ZODIAC

In development
AL-X5 (aka. The Klystron Project)
Anunthra (Polish)
Chronos (public beta available)
Deadly Artificial Intelligence
Frozen Hell
Hatchet
Man In Black
Invisible War Revised
Otchlań (Polish)
Questionable Ethics
Terminus Machina
That Resident Evil Mod
The Darma Project (for TNM)
The Nowhere
UNATCO Born
Unknown Motives

Fan missions and demos:
These are smaller (except in the case of the highly recommended Hotel Carone) levels for DX. Many of them can be found on PDX's fan mission page. I omitted a few of the maps from the PDX page because I never heard of them, so I assume they're not worth mentioning until somebody tells me otherwise.

ANT Agenda
Bank Level (cut level from Redsun 2020)
Blood Like Venom
Break In
Counterfeit demo (or use the OTP mirror if you don't like Fileplanet)
Deus Ex Unreal Revolution
Disclosure Demo (download mirror from OTP)
Double Cross
DXO Prologue
Fatal Weapon (translated from French)
Hints of Corruption
Hotel Carone
Mutations
Omega (website lost)
Rescue (website lost)
Rydberg Field
Presidential Emergency
Stellar's Mod
Techforce

Multiplayer mods:
These are mods that are meant to be played online - simple as that.

Arena (website lost)
Cozmo_RPG
Deus Ex Multiplayer Maps and Mods Installer (incl. the Tactical mod)
DXStats
Mainman's City
MiniMachina
Partyzone

In development
Face Town (proper info on the forums)
Deus Ex Multiplayer: Human Revolution
HX (co-op mod)
Neon Wars
Roleplay Coop (website lost)
WWII: Code Zero

Gameplay mods:
These mods add or change the gameplay of Deus Ex such as adding little details to the world or simply giving you new weapons to toy with. I've omitted any mods that simply messed with the original weapons, making them fire TNT crates and such. Be aware that some of these mods may require overwriting your old files, so back them up! I believe instructions are included with each mod.

Alternative Fire (website lost)
AM and Daft
BioMod (an extension of Shifter that tweaks the augmentations)
Companion Mod (adds a summonable ally)
Deus Ex Revision
GMDX
HardCore DX
Hejhujka Mod
JC's Life of Humour
Malkavian Mod
Minty's Mod
Shifter
ShifterPlus
Smoke39 mod
The New Agent of GOAT (TNAG)
Thievery (direct download link, may require Mod Loader files)

Graphics mods:
Graphics mods do things with the visuals of Deus Ex. In most cases, improvement is highly needed.

Direct3D9 renderer (suggested settings)
Direct3D10 renderer
ENBSeries (adds bump mapping, bloom, etc. Requires the D3D9 renderer above)
Enhanced OpenGL renderer (suggested settings)
New Vision (replaces almost all world textures with high-res versions; includes Kentie's launcher and the enhanced renderers)
OTP User Interface Fix (also built into Kentie's launcher below)
unifiedDeusEx (improves the GUI textures of Deus Ex)

In development
Deus Ex Reborn (for UT 2004)
High Definition Texture Package (demo available)

Technical Fixes
Hanfling's Custom Launcher (fixes issues you might have due to multiple processing cores or mobile speedstepping)
Kentie's Deus Ex Launcher (same as the above, but with way more options and fixes)

Enjoy 8)

Here's AM and Daft. I also found PalmTreeCTF in one of my DX installations, nothing online though.

Hm, I was sure to have DisclosureDemo.zip lying around somewhere but I can't find it. I am sure the links worked 3 months ago. There's a statement from March 20th that he is migrating to another server... http://www.weekendrush.co.uk/cgi-bin/ya ... 62;start=7

A damn fine but incomplete archive can be found at DXAlpha
http://www.dxalpha.co.uk/download/index ... %2Fmods%2F

DX Hardcores' direct download link without apostrophes: http://hejhujka.googlepages.com/hardcore50r1.zip

What I am missing on the list is:

- DXO Prologue
- Stellars' Mod
- Rescue (Map)
- Chronos (beta)

Others that can be found on DXAlpha (but I don't know most of them):

- BankLevel
- Castle Court
- Fluchtweg
- Mission 51
- Rescue-Beast
- Rescue-GreatAroo
- SniperTraining
- UndergroundLab
- Ziliphore
- InXtreme

I don't see any MiniMachina

And InXtreme is more like a big joke mod, doesn't even deserved to be mentioned. Wait...

You may want to not judge TNM until you've played it.

Same goes with HDTP and NV.

Uhm yeah, but when was the last time anybody accused NV or HDTP for being just big joke mods?

Might as well mention the new OpenGL .dll as a graphics mod, right?
I'm tempted to whore my tower of babel map, but it only has two downloads. I'm sooo disappointed. The video's got over 200 views so far on youtube, at least. :P

Put some actual objectives and enemies in your map and I'll link to it. Make sure you have it tested first though, nobody likes buggy crap. And include a readme about how to open it.

Added the OpenGL renderer as per your suggestions.

Next to the OpenGL link, include this post: viewtopic.php?p=1730#1730

It has the settings for DeusEx.ini that will bring out the beast in the new renderer

I could, but its design doesn't really mesh with gameplay. :P Its point of existence is only itself: Just to be a really big tower. The closest thing to a goal there is is to get to the top and stare at the trippy pyramid thing. :P I've got other stuff in progress though.....
BTW, you should mention Cassandra is dead as a doornail, I think. >_>; and that only one level, without any real gameplay to it, was released.
