Hey. I've been playing with New Vision and the DX10 renderer. Occasionally, but not always, my screen will just go black. I can still hear everything that's going on and if I move, I hear my footsteps. The weird part is, my HUD is still there. If I manage to find an interactive object, my HUD will show that my mouse is on it. The Esc and Inventory menus still work. Basically the entire game remains functional, but I can't see anything. So far this has only happened a few times, and thankfully only in areas without heavy combat.
Here's my specs, if it makes a difference.
AMD Athlon 64 X2 3800+
2GB DDR2 RAM
Nvidia GeForce 8600 GT (512mb/128bit)
Plantronics USB Headset
2x 20" Acer X203H Monitors, 1600x900
Running the game at 1600x900 with HDR, no bump-mapping or parallax occlusion. 2x Anti-Aliasing, 8x Anisotropic Filtering (set in drivers). Multi-pass simulation is enabled. "Curved surfaces" is enabled in the game settings (independent of the renderer). Everything else is set to default.

Google hasn't given me any hints as to what the issue may be. Possibly something with the lighting?
Thanks

Crap. I guess I have to lose HDR lighting unless there's a better workaround.EER wrote:Is it this? viewtopic.php?f=18&t=11005

As I've said in that other thread posted my EER; yeah, I got the same problem.
I haven't turned HDR lighting off because I sorta like it. Whenever it goes black, I just save, exit, and load up the game and save again. Problem sorted.
Or apparently, turning the HDR off works too.

The real trouble with reality is that there's no background music.

Open console, type preferences, close preferences again and you're golden.

Latest version of the DX10 renderer
Thus far no blackouts (with ClassicLighting set as False, of course), but then again I always mostly got them at random times instead of every time at a certain location.

Re: Deus Ex: DX10 Renderer Randomly Blacks Out World
It was always random points and not specific locations as far as I could tell.
I guess it was just when the renderer gave up with Deus Ex's shoddy lighting.
