Thanks for the tip. It's nice hearing Spector talk about Deus Ex, but the player is slightly retarded.
Re: Heads up JC: Warren Spector replays deus ex
Thanks, yeah that was nice listening to Warren, but I kept yelling at the monitor: "If you wanna pick something up you have to have both hands empty. There's a freaking tip printied on the screen ffs".
Growing old is inevitable.......Growing up is optional
Re: Heads up JC: Warren Spector replays deus ex
It was good to listen to them, but what would have been much better is him playing it with HDTP first release and NV textures to show just how dedicated some fans are. I also kept feeling like yelling at the monitor as well at times

He has only played DX3...
It is like saying, that when you played MW3, you have played realistic shooter.

Re: Heads up JC: Warren Spector replays deus ex
I saw all the comments and thought damn ppl stop being dicks go easy on him, he was playing fine at first, missed a shot here or there nothing big.... Then he was a complete fucktard and just kept repeatedly dying in the same spot ect. However if you were playing in the same room as War'n whilst he was talking, you better be able to multitask.
I did not like how they seemed to be making fun of the game though, it is still the best game graphics and AI be damned. I also dont like this common belief that all console players are retarded either, but I can see why people would be bitter like that. I bet those elitists are all playing Dark Souls right now anyway, that is how most console games used to be.

I think your mistake there was to read youtube comments.
Never read youtube comments. It's like the collecting house for all of the internet's stupidity.

But it was comments on a Deus Ex video. Usually it is an exception.

You are very mistaken. Unfortunately the Deus Ex community has quite a lot of fanboy-purist-assholes, and it shows in comments of most Deus Ex related videos.Cybernetic pig wrote:But it was comments on a Deus Ex video. Usually it is an exception.

Re: Heads up JC: Warren Spector replays deus ex
The player was rather lame and out of sync with DX's gameplay, I give him that. It was fun, however, to see him fail at stunning an NSF with a riot pod by thinking his arm could stretch from a distance where he wished to stun him. It's true that the commentators on You Tube are crazier and nastier than the Goat Cult (no offense to the worshippers of 00n), so I don't endorse them either. I really wish that I could have played for Warren. I am a master of stealth in that game, and I know how to spank all NSF unconscious with a baton, and to distract them towards the right direction with either crate or dart. (Unrealistic wishful thinking). As to the video player making fun of the graphics, I am fed up with new gamers berating games like DFII: Jedi Knight, Deus Ex 1, and Half-Life for having ugly graphics or bad A.I., since these games helped push game design and development which modern gamers now enjoy! So what if the models look like modern art interpretations of real people, they still look good to me even if they are polygonal structures with fixed skins! Modern game models may look more realistic, but they still have stiff faces and expressions! The A.I. in Deus Ex may be easily duped, but it is better and enjoyable than games with too sensitive AI like the rushed product Soldier of Fortune II! The level of snobbery against the graphics of older classics I find to be rather small-minded. I can understand where they come from, but many times they overreact in how bad they think the graphics are.

Actually it was a novelty to see someone try for the first time a game I've always taken for granted. After all, it's not the simplest game.

You're right. It was a novelty, and it worked. It's true: it's not the easiest game to master, yet it's amazing how fans have managed to master it.
The modern gamer trying to understand DX was probably a clever move.
