Re: Give Me Deus Ex Mode- testers needed
As I said, I played the whole game with those settings. Maybe I should test further since you seem adamant, but If I was in an enemies line of sight there wasn't one time were I wasnt spotted, unless crouching or cloaking etc.
Re: Give Me Deus Ex Mode- testers needed
I've got a game breaking bug. Immediately after talking to the dude (Vinny's buddy) who gives you the key to the gate the game crashes. It's happened three times in a row with the Deus Ex exe has stopped working error. I'll see if I can find something in the logs but I'm pretty sure it's sound related.
I can't find anything worthwhile in logs. All the Event Viewer says is DeusExexe is the faulting app. I restarted the computer and got to the same point, as soon as his convo finished the game crashed for the fourth time.

Re: Give Me Deus Ex Mode- testers needed
Is it that conversation that seems to be triggering it? Can you just lift the sewer grate and go that way no problems? Can you just shoot the dudes instead of talking to them?
I cannot replicate it myself but I am gonna keep trying.

In the interest of testing I'll go via the sewage grate next to the barracks to see if I can continue that way or if there's something corrupted that affects that map.Cybernetic pig wrote:Looks like something multiplayer related. Re: Give Me Deus Ex Mode- testers needed
Well, my question there is: What's MPORANGE, and what's trying to load it?

Beyond me. I haven't touched or heard of anything called MPORANGE before today.G-Flex wrote:Well, my question there is: What's MPORANGE, and what's trying to load it?
Re: Give Me Deus Ex Mode- testers needed
This a GOG version if that's any use.
Anywho, avoiding that convo altogether did the trick. I went via the sewers to find death. Anyhow I burnt through a few biocells with Regen, Speed, and Enviromental all activated and got to the ladder that takes you near the warehouse I woulda got to if I'd gone through the gate. I've saved near the air-ducts just after the industrial elevator.

Re: Give Me Deus Ex Mode- testers needed
MPOrange is a class in Shifter's codebase, I can tell that much. Why your mod is invoking it is beyond me.

Re: Give Me Deus Ex Mode- testers needed
I did have Shifter installed on the disc version but this GOG version was vanilla to test HDTP's beta. I might run a registry cleaner and load that save to see what happens.G-Flex wrote:MPOrange is a class in Shifter's codebase, I can tell that much. Why your mod is invoking it is beyond me.

Re: Give Me Deus Ex Mode- testers needed
FWIW, I did test VisibilityThreshold, and it does indeed tail off at zero (I had excel spreadsheets and everything). Setting it to -0.9 seems to be exactly the same as -0.5 or -0.1 or indeed 0.0: above zero the lightlevel needed for spotting you increases incredibly sharply (it's non-linear, I suspect exponential or similar), such that 0-0.01 covers basically all you could ever need (pawns with values above 0.02 will let you get within a few feet of them even in broad daylight). I'm not ruling out the possibility that sub-zero values make a difference, but if so, it's too subtle for me to pick up.
