The Mechanical Apartheid: Deus X-Men?

Post by machina »

Wow it's like they just lazily ripped off the entire "mutants vs normal people" concept from X-Men.

There's also some controversy because they turned Alex Jones into an augmented terrorist. They seem to want to draw parallels between current events (right to bear arms, patriot movement) and the game world.

I'm looking forward to playing this game and fighting for the right of the augmented transhumanist patriots to use the same toilets as other citizens! What about you?

Not a bad post desu. Remember there's always a difference between the marketing and the actual product but unsurprisingly they need the story to be politically correct to appeal to a mainstream, cross-platform crowd. If Sheldon Pacotti were writing he probably would have been able to sneak in some kind of socio-political critique. I certainly didn't think HR's writing was dumb by any means but it lacked the literary richness and the often striking commentary that the original demonstrated. I don't think that MD will be any different but one would hope they would take a few risks on the back of the previous game's success.
