'Definitive' Deus Ex sites
So I've been thinking - there doesn't seem to be any major Deus Ex sites anymore that are active. PDX hasn't been updated since before Invisible War, and DeusExGaming is equally defunct.
Which leads me to thinking about setting one up, but the problem I run into is what is there to do with a site that would actually attract people to check up on it? It's an old game, no-one's really checking for game guides and such anymore surely? Would the 'latest' mod news be a good incentive to have the site on your favourites bar? A big catologue of mods, including links, reviews, screenshots etc.? Or a complete resource to development shots of both games, all the screenshots it's possible to have - all in one place? I don't really like the idea of trying to set up a community because it seems pointless when most of the active DX community is either here or whining at the developers of DX3 on their forums.
What are people's thoughts on this, and would anyone be willing to help me out setting this up? I know someone (Paul?) owns www.unatco.org and it isn't really being used (before it was just text, now it's nothing but it's not free to regitser), maybe that would be a cool domain for the site. I was thinking something like Joomla.

The only requirement is that it should be active. If a website or forum is quiet, no new blood will be attracted.

These 2 are still updated fairly regularly:

Paul, I know you said no phone messages, but South Street's going up in smoke. We'll have to meet at the subway station.

When the remarkable becomes bizarre, reason turns rancid.
Re: 'Definitive' Deus Ex sites
Ah, I did wonder if such sites still existed. Both seem kind of...convoluted though. Central has stuff about Tomb Raider on it and hasn't been updated for 5 months, and the other not for 2.AgentSmithereens wrote:These 2 are still updated fairly regularly:

I was thinking more a comprehensive guide to Deus Ex and its mods, walkthroughs, bug fixes (OTP Ui fix, Gamma reset etc. - all in one place for everyone to get them from).
Would anyone from the community like to assist me with this? I'd need help adding content - weapon info, collecting screenshots from around the web, links to interviews - that kinda stuff. Basically, a go-to for anyone who wants to find out more about the game, development of it, and mods.

Re: 'Definitive' Deus Ex sites
UNATCO.org was at some point registrered by a DX fan. I won my e-mail by suggesting a good idea for what he could do with his domain. However, it appears that he doesn't do anything with it anymore, and my e-mail doesn't work anymore I think the domain is still his, though. I might be able to contact him if you want.

Re: 'Definitive' Deus Ex sites
That'd be cool if you could From the looks of it the domain has just completely broken, it's registered to Dreamhost or something like that, and I can't register it, but there's nothing there.gamer0004 wrote:UNATCO.org was at some point registrered by a DX fan. It actually says "Private Registrant", so I guess it's still his.DaveW wrote: That'd be cool if you could From the looks of it the domain has just completely broken, it's registered to Dreamhost or something like that, and I can't register it, but there's nothing there.
I'll see what I can do.

From the looks of it it's pending deletion.

But it doesn't expire normally until something like 2010. So, I think I'd have to convince the guy to let me use it

i suppose, a lot of this things is already done, but if you like to do another site.. i don't have anything against of this. it would be good to see another DX site
Re: 'Definitive' Deus Ex sites
I think what I was looking for resembles the Wikia site most, but far more concise and organised.
But this seems pointless because no-one from the community wants to help, and I'm not doing it on my own.
