Except they're not even the same gameplay genre (StarCraft being a pure bred RTS and Hyperion being a tactical RPG).
Done right, a Tactical RPG is superior to any RTS in my mind :)

Make an account on Destructoid.com
Done! Jonas asks a good question, though. We could probably handle seperate updates if we had to, it would be worth it, I imagine.

You probably won't get nearly as much attention just mirroring your posts there, even if the stuff you write just for that blog is less content than your normal blog.

Understandable. We'll work something out.

We've also started up an official YouTube channel: http://www.youtube.com/OTPGames

Oddly, OffTopicProductions was taken by some guy who hasn't logged in for the past two years <_<

Working on a mailing list as well, if I can figure out a suitable way to do it.

I'm really looking forward to showing off some of our concept art, it's totally sweet. And as we all know, the quality of your concept art directly mirrors the quality of your finished game ;)

I think I'm on to something here... Build a web page and hide some stuff there (once you're ready to release info). There are certain websites for them as well (giving hints, and then people have to apply a certain logic that doesn't make sense and use binary numbers to change a number so they know what that they have to search the page's source for a certain number and then submit that, after which a next page is loaded with more of that crap).
Of course, being DX fans and all, there should be multiple ways leading to different rewards (i.e. one meager fact, like "Hyperion will feature mouse and keyboard support").

So when do you start taking pre-orders :)

Anyway back on topic to bring attention, find some kind of a prize you can give away (Artwork, custom mouse pad, poster, etc (preferably signed so those of us not lucky enough to get it might be able to buy one in the future))

If you get this first project done fairly quickly, you can use it as an attention grabber to get people to start looking and broaden your audience for the second release. Selling posters or artwork, might be a good way to gain attention also, or you could find a gaming convention somewhere and buy a table.

Finally, a small question about TNM that may provide a small solution to the advertising problem. Obviously it is not legal for you to obtain a profit from TNM itself, but would it be legal to sell posters/artwork, or would that still hit the same restriction? With as popular as TNM is, if you can create an online store and periodically release items, that is a fairly large group of people that you can tap into that will possibly come back occasionally just to check the store. (Additionally this gives another element to the blog posts.
Hmm, I really wish I had a signature...

When we need to pay for voice-over.
Selling posters or artwork, might be a good way to gain attention also
And money for voice-over! Good idea :)
or you could find a gaming convention somewhere and buy a table.
Pretty sure we can't afford that :(

That would be legal. We'll have to talk about that.

Lol, you're being sarcastic right? Concept Art does pwn, I love looking at good concept art, I don't find that the bad stuf detracts from the art design too much but if it's REALLY bad it may be harder for the designers to work with it...

General Discussion and Off Topic descriptions need to be re-worked a bit, I think. But yes, you're right.
