I'm optimistic. It was fairly clear that Warren wanted to make a Wii game for some time now, and with a crazy twist of steam punk zombie like Goofiness I think it will be good.

It kind of reminds me a little of Grim Fandango

Nooooo! What has he done to Mickey?! It's become creepy, and uncute, like ground zero at a nuclear test site.
I can so see this game featuring a torture scene with thousands of Mickey's offspring nibbling at some hapless victim's nose...

It certainly looks as though he loves Mickey. That's a respectable amount of memorabilia.

Interesting.
Paul, I know you said no phone messages, but South Street's going up in smoke. We'll have to meet at the subway station.

I like animation, and I still watch my old cartoons, but it's more of a nostalgia thing than a love of animation.

Disney, however, is not me. I'm not like the "disney people" Warren mentions. Disney always seemed too big, too superficial, too quiet, too establishment, all of which as a kid just means "too boring". There are some Disney TV cartoons I liked (Aladdin's Genie, etc.), but most are boring as an adult. I like more Warner Brothers, the pre-Disney DIC animation, the 80's Jim Henson Company, and the 90's NickToons; watch some Rocko's Modern Life, Inspector Gadget, and Animaniacs (or early WB), and you'll still laugh now.

This idea of "Steampunk Mickey" is actually interesting for me because it breaks with that dull giggling Disney tradition.

Pretty cool, huh?

I remember Warren talking about Super Mario Galaxy on his blog when it came out. I could definitely see him going in that direction with this. I'll have to get a Wii just for it ;) .

Fantasyland in the Bizarro world. Cool piece of art though.
